No, sorry, i wasn't saying that at all. I like him a lot as a player. Always have. I think its too bad he only has monster years during his contract year but i do think he's a great overall player and will make bank this summer and rightfully so.

Stopped watching the game early in the 4th quarter. The Pacers are playing horrible, they all looked lost on most possessions.

A couple of observations:
On defense: Vogel needs to establish the defensive assignments, especially on the wing. Perimeter shooting is the sink hole of zone defense and we may need to man up on some possessions to prevent the attempts from the perimeter. We may need to assign George on Ariza most of the time, and maybe try Copeland at times. Turner is too small for Ariza, and we do not have anyone else like a Danny Granger to back-up Paul George on times like this. I believe the Pacers can anchor the paint with or without Hibbert as we have more depth than Washington up front. They did well on the interior last night because we are allowing them to. We need to keep boxing out, there were more than a couple of times wherein Gortat would knock the ball out of a rebounder. Also, we need to keep pounding on Nene. Their offense takes a detour when he is in the bench.

Offensively, we are falling in love with the jump shots again. I understand Paul did well in the last game vs. the Hawks but he should have resorted into trying something else when his shots aren't falling. I would like him to put the ball inside and try to engage with Washington's bigs. Same goes for West and Scola when they are playing center. They should be asking for the ball in the post and then look for options to prevent us from taking unplanned jump shots. If nothing's working for Hibbert on set-up plays then I think the biggest help we can get from him is in the offensive rebounds and tip-ins. Maybe Vogel can also try playing Lavoy Allen.

ESPN is reporting that the Pacers talked to Roy Hibbert privately after the game last night.

I'm guessing his days in the starting lineup are over. I'd expect to see Scola in game 2.

Well in that case we are screwed. I just analysed Q1 for which I assumed he would be at his most confident for this game, and I seriously think Vogel is underplaying him to a criminal rate. There is way too much focus on the perimeter in our offense and it isn't happening from there. Of his 3 legit touches he had one pressured shot that he would have hit if he had confidence, one turnover because of a **** pass by PG and an assist. He also had impact defensively, if we had defended the perimeter a bit better we would not have lost that first quarter that bad. With Roy in the paint was locked down. With him out the Wizards got chances in there.

Really lost confidence in Vogel now, genuinely.
Vogel is Dutch for Bird.

This series will come down to Lance Vs. Beal. IMO.

Possibly, but i think it is more on Paul George then any other Pacer or matchup. Poor defense by him led to open-3s by Ariza and he didnt take over the game when he really needed to. Needs to assert himself and lead the pack. That's how we are great. George leads, the rest follow. Like a well oiled machine. When nobody leads, we're a dazed and confused team.
