Pacer Fans I am a KC dad looking to take my family (especially my 2 oldest boys 12 & 15) to see their favorite 2 teams on the 23rd as aaChristmas surprise. My oldest is a huge Pacers fan and the younger one is a Pelicans fan.
My question: what hotel will the visiting team be staying at if we want to try to get autographs?
Also is there a time and place to try and wait outside for autographs for home or away teams at the stadium and how likely are players to stop and sign autographs or either team?
Lastly, what must a family do if we only have a half a day to kill in Indy?

How old are the kids? The Children's Museum is MASSIVE and a simply AWESOME time. Not too far from downtown, just straight up Meridian about 7-10 minutes. That would really be my recommendation.

Yeah, the Childrens museum would definitely be the place to go if your kids are within that age group. It's an awesome place to go and around now they set up the massive Jingle Rails exhibit for the holidays. Could also do Christmas at the Zoo which I've heard is pretty fun.
As for hotels, no clue. I've never tried to get an autograph after the game. In fact, I'm not entirely sure iit's possible because iirc the players leave through the practice court and that's not open to the public. Could be wrong though. I've only ever heard of there being designated games where players stay afterwards and the crowd comes down to the court for autographs.

Personally, when I visit I like the Canterbury for it's location. I've seen players coming and going from the Conrad (Illinois and Washington - near the Arts Garden).
It seems to be best to catch the players as they exit the hotel on the way to the bus. I've only stumbled upon players here and in Indy, I never asked for autographs, just took a couple of cell photos and moved on. They seem to get annoyed by the card binder adults, but dig the kids.
Good luck!
