Who would be the ideal sidekick for PG13?

What type of player would best help George reach his full potential? An athletic big man that can run the court, allowing the Pacers to play more uptempo? A play making point guard that could get George easy opportunities? A shooter with a sweet stroke that would open up driving lanes? Out of all the players currently in the NBA, not including top tier All Stars that we would have little to no chance bringing to Indiana, who would be that guy? I'm not sure who I'd pick at this, I'd love someone like Oladipo and have the most athletic set of wings in the NBA, but like it's been said in the other thread, it'd almost assuredly take sending George to Orlando to net someone of Victors talent and potential. Mike Conley would be a great player to add, however, I don't see him going anywhere unless Gasol leaves and they are forced to blow the whole thing up. So who is it Pacers fans, who do we want playing beside PG13 for the remainder of his contract, because right now, I'm not too thrilled with who he'll have beside him when he gets back.

I like Reggie Jackson! I could see him really blossom in indy being the ball handler.

I'd love a real pass first guard like Rondo, but as that's not likely to happen at this juncture, a dead-eye 3 point shooter would be phenomenal. Not Copeland, I'm talking Kyle Korver or Marco Bellinelli level. In general, having a guy like that helps the team out immensely, not just PG, but he could really do well next to PG who doesa lot of things off the dribble.

Tough to say. Right now we just don't have many, if any, long term pieces to stick next to PG.

That's why I'm really hoping we don't screw around and cost ourselves a good draft pick just to scrape into a first round sweep. I understand not wanting to support a culture of losing, but I'm ready to start exploring trade options for Hibbert and West.

That should have been in green, a little tongue in cheek. However, when you are losing to the T-Wolves and 76ers I think that says a lot about your chances of doing anything if you were to sneak into the playoffs. I don't think trading away your veterans is supporting a culture of losing, but I don't see any real value of knocking off tops teams just to fall 2 games out of the playoffs.

I still think our primary goal has to be good defence throughout the team. Having said that, offensively we are struggling with what we have, I would probably want a good 3P scoring SG who can handle the ball and can hold his own defensively. I don't think Miles is that man.

But if we are talking big waves, I would probably want to upgrade West for an Ibaka-type player. As I don't watch basketball much this season I don't know who that'd be. But basically a David West type guy who is five years younger and is a bit more athletic.

I think a player like Jeff Teague is an ideal player next to PG. A guy that can pass, score and spread the floor. He's also young and on a good contract, i just don't see Atlanta trading him away, nor do we have have any assets that i think would interest them.
