Question from a raptors fan

Post#1 » by ill-Will03 » Fri Jan 23, 2015 10:07 am

Hey I was wondering what kind of value you guys put on David West and what value he actually has? Toronto is in need of a good solid 4 who can rebound defend and play the post/mid range game.. What players would it take to get the deal done

Well, a perfect match on salary would be West for Kyle Lowry. lol.

Seriously though, in my opinion the Pacers biggest need is a young athletic starting PF.

Their second need is an athletic starting SG.

Third would be a legitimate PG that is big enough to guard SG's. That way GHill can slide over to SG on offense and still defend PG's.

I don't think Toronto has any of those, so a third team would probably have to be involved.

What about something for vasquez he's big enough to guard 2s and could run point if needed. Also isn't this David's last year of his contract? He could potentially be lost for nothing right?

West has a player option next year of $12.6 million. Personally, I can't see him leaving that on the table unless he has some kind of injury or is extremely unhappy.

I could be wrong, but I didn't think Vasquez was a very good defender.

It would have to be a three-team deal. West has value and he is a great guy, but with the way the team is looking without PG nobody is untouchable and West knows he has lost a step or two this season. He could however be the sort of guy that makes a serious contender into an even more serious contender. The Raps might well be a serious contender (certainly in the East) so it would be a great move for you.

I also think there wouldn't be a Pacer fan who doesn't think he deserves a shot at a ring.
Vogel is Dutch for Bird.

The first requirement would be David's consent. He's a team leader and what hasn't fallen apart already would probably fall apart immediately if the locker room thought he'd been treated unfairly. The second requirement would probably be a quality draft pick.

Greivis is a negative to us. We have George Hill and don't need Greivis and he's just paid too much for too long. You'd have to pay us to take him, and then still pay is to give up West.
