Hey man, what's the feeling on the Thunder Board about that Luxury tax problem are the Thunder gonna dump some salary or just pay the tax? And how do they feel about moving RJ?

I thought they'd try to get under the tax, but not completely sure to be honest. I think most Thunder fans expect RJ to be traded.

So do you guys like the Hill and Mahinmi deal? That saves the Thunder about $2 million but taking $2 million extra puts the Pacers over the taxline. I think we need a 3rd team. If I was the Thunder I'd want a #1 pick for RJ. But I tkink getting George Hill and Ian would be good for the Thunder this season and next in their title run.

I countered by adding CJ Watson and Mitch McGary, but they are hesitant to include McGary at this point.

I can see that first deal but I can see why they don't want to give McGary. You don't want to dump a guy without finding out what he can do. Remember Miles Plumlee, got in about 15 games at 5 min per then we dumped him. I'd like to have him back.

Yeah, I was just getting a little greedy on the behalf of the Pacers, I really liked McGary at Michigan.

Pacers Get:
Reggie Jackson
Kedrick Perkins
Jeremy Lamb
Hollis Thompson (or any 76er making less than a million)

Thunder Get:
Ian Mahimi
George Hill

76ers Get:
CJ Watson
Chris Copeland
2nd round draft pick from the Pacers

I'm still not necessarily a fan of the Hill/Jackson swap. It's nice this year, as Jackson is cheap, but next year? Jackson is likely more expensive than Hill.

After that, Mahinmi, Watson, Cope, and a 2nd for Lamb and Hollis? Meh.

Cope and Watson are both expiring so I don't considering them much of a loss, Mahimi has played well this year for the most part and is a good bargain at 4M per, but possibly a change of scenery could do Lamb some good?

Maybe we could swap out the 76ers for the Magic?

Pacers Get
Jackson
Perkins
Either Harkless or Nicholson

Thunder Get
Mahimi
Hill

Magic get
Watson
Cope
2nd round draft pick from the Thunder

I can't imagine that Orlando would consider that with either of Harkless or Nicholson.

I don't get the point of trading for a player like Jackson while he's a soon to be free agent.
Yes i think a good point guard is this team's biggest need, but i'm not convinced he's a better distributor then George Hill is and he might walk out the door very soon for nothing.

That's the 10 million dollar question, would Jackson be an upgrade over what we are getting from Hill? I'm not able to answer that question because the situations aren't the same. Like you said, point guard is an area of need. However, outside of PG13, I'm not so certain every other position is also an area of need, depending on what direction we decide to go. I know going forward we can't afford to have to lumbering big men in the front court and expect to commit for an NBA championship. Hopefully we can grab an athletic big who can play both the 4 and 5 this offseason that can be paired with Roy.
