If Roy opts out, we renounce all our free agents, and the full MLE, and BAE, we'd have about $7m in cap space, and then the smaller room MLE of around $3m. I imagine we'd operate as a capped out team and keep our exceptions and bird rights to Scola, Allen, etc, unless we find that one free agent that just wants a BIT more than the MLE.

To clearify, if Roy opts "OUT" and we renounce all our free agents and exceptions we have only $7 million? I'd think we would be at $48.4 million roughly not counting the #11 and #43. Then we look to resign Scola, Allen and Stucky right? PG,GH, West, Solo, Ian, Rudez and Shayne that's 12 guys. I'd think we need a big like Koofus, and a backup point guard.

Yeah, I'm sorry. I messed up. I still had the MLE and BAE in that calculation. If we renounce everything, we'd have about $15m in cap space, and the room exception after.

I would be absolutely shocked if he opted out. The only thing I could think of is that his agent thinks his value is high (haha) and that he could get a long term deal now, rather than risk injury or poor play next season and lose a lot of money. I think even if we Jamaal Tinsley'd him, he would gladly collect this paychecks and sit at home. Honestly, with him, who knows?
