What I don't think we will see is some of the massive turnover I've seen on a few other examples, unless a big trade ends up going down. We don't have so much cap space that it makes sense just letting our pieces walk for nothing and using space to sign similar but different players. I'd rather try to use the draw of playing with PG and sign one higher dollar player (Griffin or Hayward being the best options of course) and ending up with the rotation pieces we have in place now plus a piece that looks like a real upgrade.

Chance of signing Griffin, 5%

Chance of signing Hayward 15%

My main point was that we should use the Bird rights we have on Miles and/or Teague and keep their talents around so that we can add somebody in free agency.

I don't really count on any of those being legit options for us, though we should check just to make sure. I'm just saying I'd rather spend cap money on a solid quality starter even if it's a something like an Ibaka, Noel, George Hill, or something that we can use to add to what we have. The exact name isn't important, but we should use what space we have to make an actual addition to the team.

I'm just worried we're gonna use up our cap space making lateral or backward moves. Like letting Teague go and bringing in Patty Mills. Or instead of trying to re-sign Miles, we just make Evans or Mbah a Moute our splash free agent signing of the off-season. Or shipping Ellis off with a draft pick for a player that realistically probably won't be that much better. If that's what we do, we won't really have improved much and won't even have as much cap space, trade resources, or picks to try to make an improvement than we have right now.

What is CJ's Cap hold?

Teague I'm ok with his cap hold is about $13.5 million.

OK I just looked up CJ's cap hold it's $8,708,555. He's gonna get more than that, but unless we renounce him or he signs someplace, he eats up that much of what ever cap space we have when free agency begins.

Kobe is overrated

How are you enjoying the rebuild? I know this is a new low for the Lakers organization having to tank for high picks instead of cherry-picking the very best talent. You guys will be in good shape in a few seasons after the youngins mature and Deng/Moz come off the books. Besides, PG wouldn't join that mess of a roster as he is entering his prime.

Use the report function it's the exclamation point next to the quote function button. This guy is trolling our home board. I'm betting none of our guys do that to anyone.

General Board Lakers fans are a different breed, I swear. This thread is made up of GB fans who don't even post on the Laker baord and one dude we banned for posting nothing but garbage. I'm sorry you have to put up with that. (One Love excluded).

I would guess the Celtics poke around with Thomas (would you guys do it straight up?)

The Lakers are more likely to play the waiting game imo, but I could see Russell, Clarkson, and 28/Nance being offered. (not sure if it's appealing, though Russell's numbers are actually really good historically for his age)

None of that (Thomas or the package you note coming from LA) is of particular interest to me. I'd sooner like to see the Pacers try to improve through the draft this year and gamble on the internal upside provided by the addition of Lance and the improvement of Turner and GRIII. I don't think its a wild stretch to see Indiana a top 4 seed in the East. Does PG leave that to join an LA team that most likely doesn't make the 2018 Playoffs in the West?

I see Russell as a flashy guy running up nice stats on a bad team. Somebody's got to handle the ball and take shots...right? The rest of your package can be duplicated in the free agent after market. To justify moving PG now we've got to get a high level prospect. The kind you might have to work through a couple of drafts to get.

IT for PG straight up? Once again if PG is going at a discount (which IT for PG is) the package has to have some upside. I'd sooner do something like Gary Harris, pick 13 and Ken Faried from Denver than either of these deals.
