Lance Stephenson - Full Time PG?
Thoughts?
Personally I'm excited. We won't win much, but Lance is always fun to watch with the ball in his hands.

Fine by me. Guy deserves it.
Happy to have him back and this will be an opportunity for him to shine.

I think without someone else demanding the ball he will do well there. Didn't like the idea of it if PG returned because Lance can dribble the air out of the ball. I also wouldn't trust Doyel as a scoop guy.

I'm not sure I trust him either, but it's fun to think about. Lance handling the ball only part time and not full time before he left resulted in a bunch of triple doubles. We could see some Westbrook-lite numbers on some nights.

No doubt and as a fan it is easy to realize we aren't going to be very good. At least Lance at the point makes it entertaining. I'm all for this if we hit the rebuild.

Re: Lance Stephenson - Full Time PG?
There was some discussion about whether he meant as the first unit point guard or the second unit point guard. For a time, KP was talking about keeping Lance as the main ball handler in the second unit and pairing him with Joe Young because of Young's ability to shoot the 3. I honestly think that's what he was talking about.
But if he does mean having Lance as the starting point guard next to two other wings, I think it's an idea that has some potential. It is pretty awesome that we have options. It might be the one good thing about Birds obsession with ball dominant players. As long as one of those wings isn't Monta Ellis at least.

There is the understatement of the decade! Get ready to lose 65 games. The Pacers are the New Brooklyn Nets.

The Nets started out without their picks and no prospects. We at least have Turner and our own picks.

Bad idea, too much trust put into a guy that has not been able to stick with a team for years. Pacers are entering a dark era.

Outside of signing Teague or another free agent the only other option would seem to be Joe Young so we may not have better options.

Teague is much better than Lance. People are blowing 10 games or so of Lance out of proportion.

I never said Lance was better than Teague. I'm just not sure we'll resign Teague with PG gone.

Lance changes his number back to #1. Not a big shocker, but I like that he's cognizant of his history here.

Re: Lance Stephenson - Full Time PG?
The most interesting thing about the idea of starting Lance at the 1 is what it would do for us defensively. I like the idea of Lance with the ball in his hands without competing with a traditional type of point guard also wanting the ball, but I also remember us trying to use a switching defense in the playoffs that ended up with Lebron James isolating against Jeff Teague. That was a matchup that was very effective against us, and I like the idea of a player the size of Lance being in that spot instead.
Imagine a defense where your 1 can switch onto 4s and not get taken advantage of. The Clippers played Lance some as a small ball PF, and that wasn't a great idea imo, but I think he could be pretty effective against today's small ball fours if forced to switch onto them.
