It has come to my attention that after 15 years posting here that I am no longer welcome on this board. I also have come to an point where I can no longer support the Pacers as a team. They have idiots and morons for executives and I don't really care what happens to them from this point on.
Last nights draft was a massive disappointment and showed the glaring mental deficiency of the team leadership. I supported this team through the dark days of the merger from the ABA when they won 20-25 games a year and it was a surprise when they actually won. I've gone to games as far back as 1968 at the old Pepsi coliseum, I was in attendance at the "Hangem' High" series against the hated Spurs. I supported the team after the "brawl" with the Evil Pistons and this is how I am repaid.
I'll be surprised if this team is in Indianapolis in 5 yrs they clearly are an amateurish bunch who are in over their heads and should just give up and get out while they can still sell the team and gets some of their money back.
I will no longer be posting on the Pacers board.

I'm as old as you are if not older. I remember listening to the very first pacer game on the radio at my parents house. I was through school and married. I've had ticket packages most years going back to MSA. I don't share your pessimism but I have no authority here. All opinions should be welcome. That said, you've made your opinion clear and I have decided not to argue with you.

Just because we may not share your feelings does not mean we don't want you here.
That being said, I feel like you're in a bad place now as a fan, and you're lashing out angrily which undermines any reasonable logical points you're trying to put forth.

Re: I will no longer be posting on the Pacers board.
I hope at some point you decide to reconsider. You're a passionate, informed, and obviously dedicated fan of the Pacers. I'm actually a bit envious of the long term commitment you've put in as both a RealGM poster and as a spectator of the sport. I wish I had been alive or old enough to witness some of the Pacers eras that you got to see first hand. The extreme pessimism you've been posting with recently has been a bit overwhelming, but it absolutely doesn't mean you are unwanted. I hope you understand that.
I also hope with some time you'll come to realize that the Pacers aren't in as bad a position as you think. Whether our recent draftee was the player you would have picked or not, our organization has a good track record of picking solid prospects out of the draft. Sure, there have been some misteps along the way. I can't think of a team that doesn't have a few of those, but almost all of our really good players have been picked and developed right here. We got a great building block in Myles Turner. He's the future, and we're gonna have to put some pieces around him. Sure, Paul George is likely gone and taking the last remnants of his era and the success we had with those Vogel teams with him. Losing a player of his caliber is always tough for a team and its fans, but I'm actually really optimistic that Kevin Pritchard will do a much better job than his predecessor of putting a team together that fits together and can win together. Maybe we'll even get a few decent assets in trade for George. That's the best we can hope for at the moment, I think. I wanted to win a Championship with Paul George as much as any Pacers fan did, but now it's time to look towards the future. I hope you will be there.

With posts like this you will make a great mod, dare I say reminiscent to PacerFan.

Give it a bit. Once PG is gone, we can focus on the rebuild around Turner. He's already trying to lead way more than PG ever did. We can still have an exciting team and PG being a jerk doesn't reflect poorly on the organization, just him so don't let it get to you too much. What's done is done, it's time to move on and Pritchard has a good track record as a GM.

Wacko I think your name describes you very well. And that is honestly meant as a compliment. I'm sorry that you do not feel welcome... I certainly don't have that opinion and I'm sure others dont. We may disagree but always had a great deal of respect. You have a great amount of passion for the blue and gold and that is why I think wacko appropriately fits you. Hope you come back. Regardless of if you do or not beer at the Pub on me before a game this year.

Re: I will no longer be posting on the Pacers board.
You're clearly a dedicated fan who cares a ton about the franchise, and I think everyone respects that.
However, I think the way in which you articulate your points, rather than your points themselves, puts people off. In one of your posts, you said you hoped PG pulls a "Len Bias" and dies. That is in no way acceptable or a point anyone can get behind. To wish that on anyone, let alone one of the best players in franchise history who has simply chosen to move forward in their career on to a different place, is not okay.
I hope you reconsider and stay, but I also hope you begin to understand that these players are people with their own hopes, dreams, aspirations, and dynamics in their lives we could not possibly begin to understand, and perhaps start to give them the benefit of the doubt.
