Interesting tidbit of news I saw over at http://www.8points9seconds.com. It apparently used to say "Indiana Pacers Lavoy Allen." Now blanks. Allen was always a favorite of mine. Never flashy, but at least was never overpaid. He could always be counted on to do the dirty work, and his contributions were usually ones that didn't show up on the stat sheet. He was a real Frank Vogel type player, if you will. Every now and then he showed flashes of being able to play that David West mid-range game. I always felt if he was a little more consistent with it, he could have been a much bigger contributor. But with the Pacers team on towards a new path, and a league that values power forwards that don't shoot 3s less and less each day, there was definitely some rumbling that it might be time that we moved on from Lavoy.
Is this the right move? Anyone got any Lavoy Allen memories?
I don't think a lot of NBA fans are aware he's still capable of dropping a game like this...
