If the Pacers are reasonably competitive (competing for a playoff spot) it will be because Lance, Vic and Myles are able to develop chemistry and are playing as expected or better. From a talent perspective they are at a level well above the rest of the roster. When distributing minutes I'd see the three of them playing a minimum of 32 min/game with the potential for more.

I think you need to add Thad to the veteran core that will get 30 minutes or more a game. Bojan should earn minutes too and we need GRob to take the next step but his 24 minutes or so can be split between 3 and 2. I expect to see healthy competition for minutes between Darren, Cory, and Lance.

I think we need to pump the breaks a bit on Lance. Not saying he can't accomplish what everyone here thinks, but he has never seen a role like folks on here anticipate him having. That is a big step for a player to take. Some guys are better being the energy and less depended on guy and struggle when more is put on their plate. Not saying this will happen with Lance, but let's pump the brakes and see if he can handle that role.

He was a starter in his last year here but also was the energy guy and ball handler on the second unit. until the trades we were looking for a similar role and then we got Vic and we thought Lance would start with him and then we got Darren and we didn't know who would start at point and then we got Corey and now we don't know where Lance's minutes will come.

There's a chance and it will be a competition of sorts in camp. Collison and Bojan are going into camp with the job though, so CoJo and GR3 will have to unseat them.

I agree there is no guarantee with Lance. But, as of now his role projects to be less than it was in 2013-2014. Dipo is going to get big minutes and usage. And that will happen as a ahooting guard. Beyond that I se 12-16 minutes backing him up. Beyond that it looks any of 5 guys ( Collison, Joseph, Stephenson, GR3, and Bogdonovich) could play their way into big minutes. Stephenson would seem the most likely to do that. If he's not effective, thankfully there are other options. Beyond Lance any of the others grabbing big minutes would be in uncharted territory.

Lance will get his minutes. Stuckey was in a bit of a similar situation last year and while being constantly banged up managed to get 20 minutes a game.

If I was in control, I would plug Cory Joseph into the starting lineup. Cory is a good on ball, but also moves a lot without the ball, he was basically the only one in Toronto to get a backdoor from time to time. Oladipo will probably handle the ball a lot anyways, so I think Joseph is a better fit, especially defensively, as the backcourt of Oladipo and Collison is undersized.
Off the bench, it's similar, Lance will probably handle the ball quite a bit, and Collison is an excellent 3pt shooter (he shot 41% last year), so he will be very useful when Lance drives the lane. On defense, Lance can guard either the PG or SG, whoever is the better player and DC can maybe be hidden on the other.

As for the SF position, I would like to see GRIII starting but I have no problem if it's Bogdanovic. Just like someone mentioned, I think there is more upside to GRIII.

Other than that, your rotation looks perfect. I see you left Al Jefferson out of it entirely, unfortunately I don't see any use for him either with this young team.

Cory is not nearly as effective off the ball. The guys who led the team in buckets off backdoors were Demar, Norm, Valanciunas, Nogueira ... not Cory.

When Cory played with Lowry, Lowry was the one off ball to free him up since he's a 41% 3pt shooter

Mmh, I watched some Raptors games and I really thought he moved well off the ball, but I might be mistaken then.

I still think that Collison and Oladipo are not big enough to play next to each other most of the time.

Not sure what you saw, because he was virtually NEVER off the ball. If he was playing point and gave it up, he wasn't a particularly aggressive cutter since he has mediocre athleticism and speed

To me, Collison gets the starter role mainly for his shooting. Can't have too much of that.
