A corresponding move is allegedly coming to fill the 15th slot. Clearly, Niang was a Bird pick and not a team pick, nor a Pritchard pick.

Nor a me pick. All my picks last year had B's in their names including the rookie of the year and the Ant we lost to Philly.

At the position we took Niang, it is basically just a shot in the dark to give a guy a shot and see if something develops. If the guy doesn't show promise or the roster spot is needed as part of a bigger move, that's kinda just how it goes. IDK that it means it was a Bird pick over a Pritchard guy, it could just mean that we got some new guys with more promise that play the same position.

With Young, Leaf, and Sabonis there just isn't much reason to keep him around.

Seems like a good guy, but man was he slow. Feel bad he didn't get a shot in SL but this was likely coming anyways.

I'm not shocked he was only guaranteed $100k till july 15th and he's not gonna turn into a great player anyhow. He was one of those great college players who never makes it in the NBA.

We was worth a flier and a look in the 2nd round. Wish him the best. Think he will have a heck of a career overseas.

I am disappointed that he never really got the chance. He's a good pick, and a good player.

I wasn't expecting the Warriors to pick him up. Let's see how he does there.

The Warriors were interested in drafting him way back last year. Maybe they never thought McCaw would slide that far and so they took him instead of Niang.
