Oladipo or Gary Harris
Now that Harris has been given an extension which is essentially the same money as Oladipo (4 years $84m), does this change your mind about the PG trade?
Recap: the runner-up to the actual PG trade (Dipo+Sabonis) was reportedly a package of Gary Harris + #13 from Denver. At the time, Harris was still on his rookie deal, so Dipo's large contract was considered a negative. Now that the contract factor has been neutralized, does it make you feel better about the deal?

Considering what Boston gave up for Irving I would have rather just waited a few days to see if we could have landed the same package for Paul George. Time matters but I think Pritchard jumped the gun a little going for the OKC trade.

Re: Oladipo or Gary Harris
If those reports were true (I find it a rather silly thought from Denver to think they can actually re-sign Paul George)
I still prefer Dipo and Sabonis but it is close.
Harris has more potential than Dipo IMO but Sabonis tips the scale in favor of OKC. I just like his game a lot.

Re: Oladipo or Gary Harris
I've been impressed with Oladipo's attitude. He just fits really well into the culture I would like to see the team have. It's been awhile since I felt confident our team was gonna outwork the opponent on both sides of the court, win or lose. I confess I don't know much about Harris's demeanor off the court or work ethic or anything like that, but Oladipo is here and I'm liking it a lot.

Harris has potential but Dipo is just better right now. I dont know what happened but people hate on him and he was a top tier defender and top 10 SG via RPM.

No, according to the report PG would have gone to the Cavs, with Love going to Denver.

Re: Oladipo or Gary Harris
I don't really believe any of the reports that came out after the PG trade was done, but if anyone asks me which player I would prefer out of Oladipo and Harris, I would go with Gary Harris hands down. He might be the most underrated player in the league. 23y old, shooting 42% from Three, 50% from the Field as a Guard

Re: Oladipo or Gary Harris
I would have gone for Gary Harris and tried to trade #13 and #18 to move up for Dennis Smith Jr. Backcourt would be set with Harris and Smith Jr for years. However, if we couldn't have moved up, I would have gone Donovan Mitchell at 13 and Kyle Kuzma at 18 (looking back at it knowing what we know now). Would have done anything to move up for Johnathan Isaac other than trade Myles Turner. Think he just compliments him so well.

Is Gary Harris a point or a shooting guard? I do not have a strong feeling about this but I am willing to give Oladipo the benefit of the doubt. I think people are overlooking Sabonis who came with Oladipo. The Pacers need a player like him desperately

I would say that it would have been nice to have the 13th pick, one report that I heard was Harris, Lyles and #13 if that was the case it would have been tough to turn down. I'm ok with Oladipo I always liked him at IU and I kinda predicted the OKC deal, I had PG and Jefferson going to OKC for Kanter, Oladipo, Sabonis and a Pick. But since OKC had no picks they could trade it would have to have been the Chicago 2nd they sent to NY in the Carmelo trade.

I believe Lyles was traded from Utah with the #22 pick to Denver for the #13 pick so there is no way that could have happened. We should have demanded Terrance Ferguson with the trade. I think he could have been traded after he was drafted, just would have had to wait a certain period of time.

I'd rather have Harris, but I can understand and respect if the front office did not want to deal with Mintz (his agent too) again with the contract extension. Seems it would be tough to get a deal done directly after the PG drama.

You are correct there was a trade of the #13 pick that's how the Nuggets got Lyles but it was the 24th pick not the 22nd that went to denver for #13. Maybe it was the 24th pick, Harris and Lyles that I had heard was offered? I don't recall I just remember mostly being pissed off on draft day because the Pacers took TJ Leaf. Leaf may workout and be a decent player, I think there were better players picked after him.

Yeah I don't think they want anyone who is repped by Aaron Mintz ever again, that's why they didn't take John Collins in the draft.

At the least it certainly screwed with PG trade discussions. Randle/DLO just weren't options from LA and Harris wasn't a good option either. He also reps Luke Kennard who went right where that Denver pick was
He does rep GRIII though I believe (and Poythress), so who knows how those discussions will go, though I think we're more in the driver's seat there.

Re: Oladipo or Gary Harris
Defensively Victor is much better than Harris. But Gary can take over a game offensively, and he could grow into a top 5 SG soon. I went with what we got, because Sabonis is a sleeper.
