He seems to be cool with everything and everyone.

Buckner: Domas, what were your thoughts when coach started you at the point guard position?
Sabonis: It was awesome, the fans are amazing, I love my teammates, I love my coach, the point guard position is great.

Point guard with 13 rebounds :D New meta.

1 week from today the real stuff begins. I am very interested to see what we look like when the lights come on. I've got a week to decide what to make that night. It's either smoke some meat or a big pot of chili. Can't wait for next week!

Quinn Buckner cracks me up whenever he's cracking up.

I'm on the Sabonis band wagon. I think he and Turner should be starting.

So far in the preseason Domas is averaging 8.3 rpg in 20.3 mpg. That's 14.7 rpg PER36. Pretty much in line with what he was averaging in college. The OKC system didn't really take advantage of this strength of his. I'm not only talking about the defensive rebounds which Westbrook got most of so he could initiate the fastbreak with his explosiveness, but also the way Domas was used on the offensive end - as a floor spacer. You really aren't in any position to bang in the paint and go for the offensive boards when you're standing around the 3PT line.

So this is quite refreshing actually. Domas no doubt got even better in the offseason, and I think with an expanded role this year he can definitely show why he was selected with the 11th pick.

I think we can play them together some. But, I do like Sabonis coming off the bench. It always ensures that barring foul trouble one of the 2 will be on the floor. If they both start, you are going to have times where to you have Thad/Big Al or Thad/Leaf on the floor. Those both make me cringe. I'm not saying he isn't one of our top 5 players, but to me it makes sense to play him off the bench. Plus I really like he and Lance in the P & R game.

I agree that Sabonis and Lance seem to have some good chemistry and if Sabonis is starting we don't have a back up Center. Lance should get about 30 minutes per game, so if Sabonis started, he and Lance could be on the floor for a decent amount of minutes.

In my opinion, our biggest issue would be having a back up Center. Maybe we can make a deal in December or January and bring in a back up Center...or maybe Ike proves he can handle some minutes there. 8-)

Lance made Seraphin look serviceable while coming into a team for the last 6 games. The Lance/Sabonis two man game has potential to be something really good off the bench for us.

About Sabonis liking everything. He sounds like a happy kid. He gets to play to his strengths unlike playing for the Thunder. That interview example was funny. ;)

I thought that it was interesting that the Mad Ants played Uthoff at center at times last year. He can rebound and block shots but needs to gain strength both as a forward or at center.

New lurker reporting. Though, it's a bit sad to see this board being borderline dead with very little user activity. Hopefully this will change when the season starts for real.

If PD goes down, this board will pick up.

Even if PD comes back we'd encourage anyone to still post here as well. There is only a small group of Pacers fans on this site (all of which are great posters), but the rest of the forums have some really great posters who are fans of other teams.

And board activity will definitely pick up once the season starts. There just hasn't been too much to talk about lately.
