It is possible that Oladipo did foul him. CoJo and Myles, on the other hand, played great defense on him. I don't think that Selden's shot had any chance of going in even if Dipo wasn't involved and when that's the case the refs usually swallow their whistles. It would have been a bailout call if they called it and the refs usually only bailout stars.

The ball literally slipped from CoJo's hands. I don't think that we can even blame that on our poor defensive rebounding. That's straight up getting unlucky

Avoided the trap. This team is great. NBA is fun again. I like turtles.

No worries, buddy. I always wanted to have 32 hours in a day. With current 24 I just don't have enough time for everything.

BTW, till today I had issues with PD, but found time and all is good. I just remember that GT on PD used to be something like 50 pages. Now it's different, but with this new basketball era in Indiana and with this new Pacers team - things will change. Here and there ;) Old timers will rejuvenate with their first love - Pacers basketball, and some youngsters will fall in love for the first time
What about me? I'm sports nomad. "My" basketball team doesn't play in the NBA. But I love NBA because the talent level of players is mind boggling. I liked NHL rivalry between "evil" Red Wings and "pure" Avalanche. I remember first time seeing Martina Hingis on the court (she was 15), remember first encounter with Roger Federer - just precision and perfection. Florida Marlins winning World Series. I can close my eyes and see Ayrton Senna hitting the wall (mine initial reaction - nothing serious, I've seen much worse. Oh boy, how wrong I was). I'm a huge winter sports fan (spent big part of my youth in a special training program). To conclude: I'm addicted to sports. Sport is peace and beauty, brings out the best from the people. Winning or gold medals or world records are not the most important things in sport. Most important thing - to give up everything seeking perfection. And if you fail, you will sleep with the smile on your face. Because you gave all yourself and that was not enough. Let's shake a better man's (or woman's) hand and applaud them.

Enough of this off topic blabbering. Pacers won. Won third game in a row. I expected nice, high scoring victories, but instead we got nerve-racking nightmares.
Though one thing bothers me greatly - the quality of play. It's declining.Pacers need to toughen out remaining 7 games till All-Star break and get much needed rest. I hope it will bring Pacers back to life, back to the quality of play they demonstrated at the beginning of the season. New and young team needs not only rest for their bodies, but for their heads too ;)

^^ Thats a hell of a good sports background you got there.

I know PD is the king of Pacers boards on the internet, but i hope you and the many others who have joined recently like it here and stay. It's nice seeing this place active too. Believe it or not, when i first joined, this place was a very popular Pacers hangout spot as well. It has gone through many highs and lows, but it has been very refreshing seeing it alive again. Kudos to all who contribute and make this place so awesome.

PD lost a lot of people when they changed servers this summer. That's why you don't see the same kind of traffic. I wish the old timers return. PD was better with them posting.

Agreed. For what is worth, I do like seeing us win close games. We need to get through some adversity now if we want to be ready for the playoffs.

Our Lithuanian friends have really brought new life in this forum. Personally, I've always posted both here and on PD and I love both places.

So PD is back now huh?

There was a huge influx of new faces here when it went down, I would hope people stick around....

BTW: who's call was it to put a picture of the court behind the PD forum?

I know what you mean but your post reminds me of a guy i played high school basketball with when i was younger. He would always tell us that he would prefer we would lose a close game then for us to win in a lopsided score.

He lived for the drama/adversity/stress of a back and forth dog fight of a game and it didn't bother him when we lost and when we dominated, even when he put up a good scoreline, he said it bored him because the opponents were weak. Nuts. I still don't understand what he was saying to this day.

It's been back ever since the start of the season. People have stuck around and they will continue to do so :)

Personally, I prefer balance. A team that hasn't faced any kind of adversity throughout the season (like the 73 win Warriors) can crumble when they face adversity in the playoffs. A team that has been battle-tested will be better prepared to handle it.

Of course, I'd never prefer an loss over a win

"Žalgiris" is my blood. Especially circa 1982-1987 ;)

Bolded is a perfect point. I agree 100%. Pacers are a new team. They had key players missing games. Now Pacers can theorize, what kind of adjustments are needed if Dipo is out for 5 games. What kind of adjustments are needed to win 1 out of 5. Or maybe win 2, or 3, or 4, or 5, or 6 (ooops, it;s impossible to win 6 out of 5, sadly).
Last three games were ugly, but every in it's own unique way. Practice makes perfect? Experience makes practice work ;)

Great to see we got another win.

A few favourable results fell our way too.

If we can stay on the positive side over the next 7 before the gear, we're going to be well positioned to finish the year strongly, welcome back GR3 and build into the post-season.

I'll tell you the best thing that I have seen out of this team lately is that early in the year if Vic didn't take over and dominate we were probably going to lose. At least it felt that way. He hasn't been shooting it particularly great recently but we have still found ways to win. It's also nice to have Myles back and playing well.

Great call.

Must give the squad confidence knowing we can step up and deliver when VO has a quieter night.
