I don't think you can make a pick contingent on resigning a gun. 2019 top 20 would be good. If we shoot him a big offer in FA then they have to decide if they want to pay tax or move a Biyombo and add value to do it in order to sign Gordon.

I really like AG and would not mind giving up Leaf and a pick to get him. I don't think he can play sf, so getting AG would mean something happens with Thad Young. I don't expect Young to come back he's gonna opt out and look for a longer deal with a little more money.

I wondered if picks could be contingent.

I think if we could get Gordon, we'd want to include Thad but do we really need to pay big bucks to a 4 when we hope Damos starts there next year?

That's the issue I was thinking about they could commit to a 3 man rotation there are 96 minutes to be divide by 3 makes 32 min each. It's like having 3 starters for the 2 positions.

but we can do that now with thad for less money. I don't want to give up Leaf or a 1st unless we're getting a better SF.

I do like the idea of outsourcing some of our player development to the Orlando Magic lol

Is he for sure getting a Max deal?

If not the max, he's going to be getting close to it I would think.

I'm not sure many teams think he will ever be worth that, but there is a chance that he could be. Some team is going to have to take that risk to show their fans they are trying to improve. Its not every day you can land a player of his caliber in FA, especially for non big-market teams. Orlando on the other hand won't be able to let him walk without getting anything in return, so they would likely be forced to match it.

It is the same situation we're going to be in with Turner next off-season. Doesn't matter what he is worth, it matters what a team will offer him - and some team is going to try and steal him from us.

Vic and Domas are both locked in to relatively cheap contracts for the next few years, Pacers should take advantage of that.

It's worth it to take a chance on AG, I think, because the payoff is potentially huge. Either trade for him and match whatever offer he gets, or throw money at him in the offseason to pry him away from Magic. If it's a trade, maybe pick up Fournier as well in the same trade, to play SF. At that point, the dream would be Thad re-signing with the Pacers for a cheap long term deal. The team could then start Myles and AG, with Domas and Thad coming off the bench, or whichever combo coach feels is best. After that, it'll be Fournier and GR3 at SF, Vic and Lance at SG. For PG, maybe roll the dice with someone like Mudiay or Sumner
