Re: Game Thread 02/14: Pacers vs. Nets
It's great that we pulled this one out (though the DLo and Dinwiddie thinking they are Kobe with the isos in the last 3 minutes was a huge factor) and that we're headed into the break at 3-0 with an easy schedule afterwards too.
That said, our defense (specifically the rotations) has to improve. We're letting far too many shooters eat us alive. There's no reason Crabbe and Caroll should be able to do what they just did to us. They had ZERO interior offense in the half court and yet we STILL could not guard the 3 point line. And, as could be said for just about every game, the rebounding has to improve. As nice is it is to have Joseph who grabs 11 boards, our forwards have to do a better job.
Looking forward to the second half of the season. Hopefully the break lets the guys get their feet back under them.

We gave up too many open looks for 3 but I am going to disagree with you on why that happened. Them having no interior offense spread the floor greatly. Then we were having a hard time keeping Russell in front of us. They help has to come from somewhere... it came from off the shooters. It's not like we were just sagged off the shooters. We have to do a better job of keeping guys in front of us or teams will continue to get open looks.

Wednesday's win coupled with Buck's Thursday loss pulls us ahead of them.

Wiz have the Cavs up next, we get the Hawks. If we win and they lose, we take over the 4 seed.

I'm looking our matches in april... last 6 games we play away games against Clippers, Nuggets, Raptors and Hornets and home vs Warriors... very hard Schedule... we can be happy if we will be in PO as number 8...

With Collison as our PG its a miracle we could even be an 8 seed. Am I right?

we've played 4 more home games than road games which will catch up to us. I won't be surprised if we finish more like 45 wins than the 48 we once were on pace for.

I think 45 is a very fair and realistic number.

I overlooked who you had quoted.

I heard a great idea today... to keep him for next three years... What's the next? Moving franchise to Kentucky?

no, Vilnius.
p.s. I don't see him as a 3 year starter given his age, and I've written that I'd trade him if the value were high, but I wouldn't be upset if he retires gracefully as a Pacer gradually moving from starter to the second unit to the end of the bench.

It would not surprise me in the slightest if DC was around 3 years from now. KP is a big fan.
