As good as he is, Vic is still just one man, and more often than not Pacers lose when he is having an off night. That's why I've been saying one of the biggest need for Pacers right now is a second consistent 20ppg scorer to play alongside Vic. Doesn't need to be an elite superstar level type of talent, just someone good enough to shoulder the burden when Vic is out or resting.
I'm more or less convinced now that AG is going to be a great get for the Pacers in the FA. He's pretty good at cutting to the basket, and Vic's pretty good at finding his teammates when the defense coalesces on him. AG can be the second 20ppg scorer that Pacers need, plus he can be extremely active on the tip ins, so if you consider a tip in an offensive rebound, then AG also helps with another area that Pacers need help in, which is rebounding
Doesn't every team want to find a second consistent 20ppg scorer? They don't exactly grow on trees. I mean there is currently only 24 players in the NBA averaging over 20 points. I'm sure the Pacers would love to add another 20 ppg scorer. I'm sure everyone in the NBA would (minus GS and maybe Hou).
It's true that 20ppg doesn't grow on trees, but we're currently watering and fertilizing Myles Turner and hoping by the time he's 25 he might grow into an 18/10 kinda guy. It almost gets overstated how young he is, but that's only because we're getting a bit impatient with him. Oladipo at the same age was a 13.8ppg rookie, and he seems to be turning out okay

I'd love to hit a home run via FA, and Aaron Gordon is a player I really like and want to take a look at, but RFA is tricky. It's a narrow ledge to walk. On one side there's overpaying for mediocre talent, and on the other side there's finding the guy you want and having his team match your offer and you get nothing. And I do think Orlando would be crazy not to match. They don't really have any other nail to hang their hopes on.
