Happy for him. I always thought he could be a productive player if put in the right role, but that never really happened here.

I still don't know why we released him. Not like we are up against the Tax line.

Good for him. Poythress looks the part of an NBA player, but hasn't really put it together yet. Maybe he'll get his chance with the Hawks.

As for why the Pacers let him go, I suspect it has to do with Alize showing well. They play essentially the same position, and with development minutes going to be scarce, maybe the Pacers figured they'd use the roster spot on someone else.

I think you are right about that. Fans seem to get a bit sentimental about "underdogs", and always root for them. But, he had a couple years to show the Pacers what he has. Now it is someone else's turn.

Hawks are probably going to be a disaster this season so he may get a chance to play on the roster and earn a deal.
