Late for practice today. Suspended one game for team rules. He did seem to take it very professionally in press release.

I saw a report that he missed the team flight, but it seemed that I heard too that he would not be with the team for the next game.

Tyreke reminds me of that old O. the contrast with Lance is striking. Lance has great vision and hops. Tyreke has a much better shot. They're both strong. Lance is an extrovert and it shows in his play. Tyreke seems to be an introvert and his game is quiet.

Lance was one of my favorite players and I was very happen he came back, but then he pulled the same trick again. As much as I like the guy he's such a knuckle head.

They made a statement that he was late to practice and so he won't be playing in the next game. Violation of team rules.

Don't mind that. Our culture and team first mentality has held us in good stead recently, we need to continue to demand high standards.

the press release suggests that the teams he has been with were lax ... casual .... unprofessional... pick your word.

Seems excessive for just being late, unless it's like missing half the practice. Either Nate is super strict, or there may be more to the story. Either way, I hope this disciplinary action nips it in the bud.

don't you suppose this is a message about hard work?

Yup. Nate made a big deal in pre season interviews “don’t f with the game” and apparently, his guys know that he’s a stickler for being on time and practicing hard. Based on Reke’s response and Pritchard being at practice to address the rest of the guys, even pulling Thad and Vic aside solo each, it seems like the team will really unite and it’s merely a chance to grow tight.

You address this early in the season. You don’t let it sit until a playoff run.

Tyreke's response was interesting. He's played a lot of years to never been on a team with expectations.

Not that surprising really. No offense to those teams he's been on, but we're talking about some real dumpster fire Kings teams, some Pelicans teams that had major issues (Gordon explicitly did not want to be there for example) and were trying to figure out what Davis was, and then last year's Memphis team that quickly fired its coach and ended up telling him to stay home for 1/4 of the season.

The best of those teams is 100% the Pelicans and those expectations were more along the lines of develop Davis.

It's natural when a player has played for a lot of teams with varied cultures that he might come with his own habits and take a little longer to acclimate to a newer, different culture. Looks like Nate, Tyreke, and Kevin all handled it in a professional way that will promote a hard-working, no-excuses culture going forward. That should help them garner respect from fans, and just as importantly, generate more long-term wins.

Good to get this addressed now!

It also makes clear why Lance only has had success with the Pacers. Lance needs an environment that is top professional, because he is lacking that.

Some players you never have to discipline and others sometimes need a wake up call. Also our culture is one of hardworking, never give up, you can have less talent than the other team, but that doesn't mean you have to do less than the other team.

I still remember our team after the brawl, with more than half the team suspended we got some wins, with players that nowadays would play in the g-league. That is why I love the Pacers, we do it with the players we have and we will give it all.

From bits and pieces I've read, I'm pretty sure it wasn't the first time he was late to practice.

Tyreke Evans was brought in to be the second scorer behind Vic, to help alleviate Vic's burden on offense

Is it a coincidence that in the 3 Pacer losses so far, he shot a cumulative 7/20, while in the 3 Pacer wins (not counting the Cavs game he missed), he went 19/38

He was brought in to be an initiator. Scoring usually comes with that, but we needed someone else that could handle the ball and distribute it in crunch time to help Oladipo.

What happened to Tyreke men?

I went all in with him in my Fantasy Team...and Now I am so disappointed...he has not the same stats He had...according to you he comes back as soon as he fits with the team and with his role of 6th from the bench ?
"...I want to compliment him, we all expected that he would take up the game, we have prepared the plan race on him, we have doubled. And, as usual, he did what he wanted..."

He’s the 6th man, so his minutes are limited. He’ll maybe get more as the season goes on, but he’s still feeling his way around. He’s also been passing a lot, especially to Domas in the pick and roll.
