Game Thread 11/27: Pacers vs. Suns

Post#1 » by boomershadow » Tue Nov 27, 2018 4:46 pm

Pacers are hoping McDermott's performance on Monday was the start of a larger breakthrough. With All-Star guard Victor Oladipo nursing a sore right knee that has forced him to miss the last four contests, the Pacers need all the offense they can get to pick up the slack in Oladipo's absence.

The Suns have the worst record in the Western Conference and are just 4-15 on the year, though they are more competitive at home (3-6) than on the road (1-9). Phoenix is in rebuilding mode under first year coach Igor Kokoškov, but has the makings of potentially one of the league's best inside-out tandems.

22-year-old guard Devin Booker is making a run at his first All-Star selection in his fourth NBA season. Booker entered Monday tied for 10th in the NBA in scoring at 24.9 points per game and 11th in assists (7.1 per contest).

Not to overplay the importance of a late November game, but this is a game we need to win, otherwise, we might look back come April when we are jockeying for playoff position and circle this as a missed opportunity.

Huge game. Potential for a let down after a win last night. B2B with a bad team. Gotta find a way to win. Secures a .500 trip out west with the potential to go 3-1 or 4-0. Type of games the blue collar makeup of the Pacers has to win.

after a great last game, DC has regressed yet again... missing wide open passes for threes.

Yeah that play really irked me. Take a off the dribble contested fadeaway rather than psssing it to the guy you literally just looked at who is wide open for three.

On another note. Josh Jackson reminds me a lot of lance.

I must be watching different games. Evans gets my wrath not DC.

Thank GOD someone else saw that. Literally looked at Cojo wide open 5 feet away for 3 and turned around for a mid range. I'll try to find a video of it later.

I wouldn't have expected that even from Holiday much less a 10 year vet.

That was ugly at times, but our bigs came up big tonite. Also great that Doug is finding his stroke! Clutch threes by Myles and Bogie, just need better, smarter play from our guards. Reke isn't bringing much to the court right now.

When Oladipo will recover? We have Lakers and Kings on the road... we need him...

they are saying Vic won't play until he gets a day of practice in and there is no practice before the Lakers game. that means the earliest he can play is against the Kings.

I'm really tired at work today from staying up to watch that. For work's sake I wish we could have buried them when we had the chance. Glad I stayed up to watch the end. Guys were clutch down the stretch. Very happy for Myles to knock down that big shot. He is playing more confident as of late and I'm sure that shot will only help. I know we like to b**** and moan about things we need to do better, but if I step back and look at the whole it has been a good start. If you tell me before the season Vic is going to miss 6-7 games and we would be 13-8 I would have ran to the bank to cash that check.
