This is the 15th spot that was vacated in the Tristan Thompson buyout. Surprising that Taylor didn’t get promoted. I’d guess his agent wouldn’t let him sign a team friendly long term deal like Oshae signed last year.

So I know he can sign 2 10 day contracts keeping other teams from taking him. If season is not over can he sign a 3rd contract to keep control of him ?

Yes. He could sign a rest of season contract or a multi year deal after signing his maximum two consecutive 10 day contracts.

His earlier in the season signing was a Covid hardship 10 day, so he’s starting his count fresh. Even then, 2 10 day contracts would put him into the last 2 games of the season.

His stats with the Ants are impressive, but I have no recollection of his covid minutes with us. Maybe I was tuned out then.

He didn’t but many shots, or get many minutes, but he played good defense. He was here when we had the huge rush of Covid hardships signed, so he blended in.

Yes. A while ago, though. He was traded with Bogut and a couple 2nds to Philly for Nerlens Noel.

Definitely don’t see a correlation with Jackson. The correlation is that Taylor’s agent tried to over negotiate a deal, and instead of getting promoted and making a good amount of more money this year, Taylor will stay on his 2 way and Anderson got the spot instead.

Ah. A body, sure. They don’t really overlap much, if at all, though, in positioning.

Anderson and Brogdon are very close friends from their time together in Virginia so I imagine this is also good will gesture

I think it is more a sign of Carlisle having a loud voice.

Anderson was possibly the best player in the GLeague over the last 2-3 months. Add in that this was probably Terry Taylor's spot to lose, but I'd bet he and his agent wanted a better offer than the usual "Hinkie special" for GLeague/2 way promotions. After that, it was Justin or nothing. :dontknow:

With Taylor’s agents failed attempt does that suggest Taylor will be looking for interest from other teams next season as they believe he should be getting NBA money ? Or was this just an exercise in seeing if the money was available ?

He’ll be restricted, and for guys on 2 ways, there’s just usually not a ton of interest. Indy has cap space and full rights to match, so few teams (since there’s little cap space) will want to sign him to an offer sheet and wait for the full 3 day matching period to see if Indy matches, as any other mle options will disappear from the board those 3 days.

Looking it up, his agent has very few nba caliber players. I think the agent is just trying to show hey can get a better deal (more guaranteed money, earlier route to unrestricted free agency, or anything) as his own audition to try and secure other clients.

Signed to his second 10 day. This will take Justin through March 6, which is all our season but the last two games.
