Damian Lillard Out Indefinitely With Blood Clot In Right Calf, Bucks Optimistic He'll Return This Season

https://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/279774/Damian-Lillard-Out-Indefinitely-With-Blood-Clot-In-Right-Calf-Bucks-Optimistic-Hell-Return-This-Season

I feel for Dame,... hope he recovers well, and completely. This could also really change the outlook for 3-6 in the EC?

it could also make 4/5 Pacers v Pistons. Bucks would then play Knicks,

That is the current situation,.. Det caught Mil with their last win. Detroit won last 2,... while Ind, NYK, and Mil all lost their last 1. Today,... Detroit is a half game up on Mil,... 1.5 behind us,.. and 4.5 behind NYK.

NYK has played .500 ball over their last 10, with the 7th toughest schedule over the last 10 games of the season,.. We've played .700 ball over the last 10, and have the 17th toughest schedule remaining. There is a 50/50 chance for us to catch the NYK.

Could very easily,.. with just the right circumstances,.. we could end up 3 playing the 6th place Mil at home,... with a NYK/ Det game in the other bracket.

The other side of this,... if the Cav's continue to falter a bit (they've won their last 2, but are 6-4 in the last 10), they have the 8th toughest last 10 games,... Boston is 9-1 in their last 10, 7 game winning streak,.. and they have the 28th toughest last 10,.... It's a 50/50 chance on who is 1,.. and who is 2,.. at the end of the season. Boston is 4.5 back with 10 to play,.. which is a huge ask,... but if Cle goes 4-6, while Bos goes 9-1 (again),... that does it.

It could very easily be Bos - 1, Cle - 2, Us-3, Det - 4, NYK - 5 (or vice-a-versa), Mil - 6th, everything still up in the air for the moment. What a last 10 games !! ?? o0 Nothing like what I expected 3 weeks ago!! :D

(all the information is from CBSSports - current standings & streaks, or Tankathon - Remaining SoS, Playoff positions)

Pistons next game is the Cavs. then the TWolves. We have Washington in second of back to back and then OKC.

Miami has lost their way down to the 38th pick in the 2nd round….why is that important? Well, Indy owns it if they fall in the top 37

Unfortunately, they’re 5 1/2 up on Toronto, the next team they’d have to tie (and lose the 1st round coin flip) or pass up, and only have 11 to go.

Buchanan/Pritchard were wise to protect the top of that pick. Too bad they couldn’t have protected another 1-2 spots, or they’d have lucked into a pretty solid 2nd round pick!

I couldn't find Miami in the 2nd round in any of the mocks. I finally figured out that they owe the pick to us if it is 31-37 and owe it to the Warriors if it is 38-59. the pick Tankathon lists as the Warriors at 38 is Miami's.

Miami is currently in between Portland and San Antonio half a game from each. If I have this right, we get the pick if Miami finishes worse than both of them.

Nope. Needs one more team. Miami and SA are tied at 38/39. Portland is at 40. Needs to tie or get below Toronto to get to possibly get to 37.

Incredible come from behind win for the Bulls tonight over the Lakers makes me feel much better and the announcers, fans, and Bulls players excitement was off the charts fun. If you haven’t seen the video of the last 12.6 seconds of the game sequence of events it’s crazy

Got it. There are 2 teams in the West that are terrible so only 4 other teams can be worse than them so put them in the button 7. So Miami needs to be worse than Portland, San Antonio, and 4 teams in the East. Currently they are better than 5 teams in the East and I don't see that changing but it's mathematically possible.

Detroit beat the Cavs and Knicks beat the Bucks. 4, 5, 6 could go down to the final day.

Miami is up 6 games on Toronto with only 8 to play. Guess I'm ready to write off that 2nd rounder

I wrote it off when you explained they'd have to fall in the East. The consolation prize could be the Nembhard brother late in the second.

Hawks lost so we're out of the play-in. I have no idea what the three way tiebreaker is but 5 wins should lock 4th. Bucks have tiebreaker over us and we have it over Pistons.

With Detroit and Milwaukee playing each other twice one must lose at least once reducing magic number. We have two winnable games then Denver and then another winnable game. We have two Cavs games but if OKC keeps winning Cavs might have nothing to play for. I imagine Tony will do a locked on pacers on the possibilities

We play the Jazz later this week.

‪Michael Scotto‬ ‪@mikeascotto.bsky.social‬
·
Utah Jazz forward Lauri Markkanen (knee) to miss at least 7-10 days. Forward John Collins (ankle) will miss at least one more week. Rookie Cody Williams (mononucleosis) will miss the remainder of the 2024-25 season.

Oh they’ve been sneakily resting players most of the season during their tank. Yes they’ve had some legit injuries but have played the tank game all season and have been developing their bench and youth into better players. I can’t fault them for taking advantage of the rules and being sneaky smart in shaping their future roster.

Filipowski
Collier
Keyonte George
Sensabaugh
Juzang
Jaden Springer

All these guys above have been getting minutes with Kessler, Collins, Markkanen, Colin Sexton and Jordan Clarkson in and out of the lineup.

I would bet Utah has lost the most games by just a few points. So most likely they’ll be a competitive squad.

Learned on tonight's telecast that Charlotte has had a lot of close games too
