No luck needed. He can sit his happy ass at the end of the bench and cheer the team on. But thank u for the multiple draft picks.

Anyway a little about scola:
Excellent spot up shuoter from 12-16 foot range. When he is "on" those shots are automatic. Not a very good defender at all. But he does hustle and gives a percent. Once in a while he has some good post moves. He tends to get under opposing players skin. He is unathletic but he is very smart and uses it to his advantage. With the pacers I'm thinking he will be a 11 pt 6 rb guy. You will be very happy to have him.
I am such a lucky NBA fan. 8647 My favorite team went from the most greedy and racist owner to the most ego driven dumbass owner in all of sports fdt.

Bird really has the Simon's wrapped around his fingers huh. No way this deal would get approved by the Simon's without Bird asking.

I think Simon also has to realize he needs to spend money to win a chip. We are so close and it'd be silly to throw the championship aspirations away just because Simon wanted to save a few mil.

Great trade for both teams assuming it is really Scola+(hopefully) Marshall <--> Green, 1st, cash, future picks.
You guys will love Scola, great character guy, was basically the only Sun to give it all until the very end and that seemed to be really bothered by losing and the others not caring.
Sunsdeuce basically described his abilities a couple of posts earlier. Looking forward to watching your team next season. If Granger can somewhat get back to his former self I think u have a good shot at winning it all, especially since Stern is gone now :P

Rockets fan here. I am really glad that Luis Scola is going to play on a contender and I really think that you guys can beat the heat and go to the finals. Luis is a great player who hustles very hard and gives his 110% effort. His defense can be frustrating at times but other than that he is a great pick up!

Why would the Suns trade their 2nd for Indy's 1st? It's possible that Indiana's 1st will be #30 and the Suns 2nd #31...

Yep, in that case the second rounder might actually be more valuable than the late first.

Anyone here know what "future considerations" might mean?

"future considerations" is probably a second in a later year.

Woj says it's Green, Plumlee and protected '14 1st for Scola.

sounds like we decided that Plumlee was less valuable than the future considerations they wanted. feels like a pretty steep price and cements the ache I felt when we drafted Miles instead of swinging for the fences. so much for cornrows idea, perhaps it was tongue in cheek, that Green would be easy to trade to a team that wanted to tank because he'd be fun to watch but would lose them games. last year's first and next year's first is not a cheap price.

What can you guys tell Suns fans about Miles Plumlee? Is he a stiff?

I agree; But in this case I like the move because if the team is setting a goal to win a championship; then every position needs to be solid. They dont have time to wait on Plumlee to develop. I like this move especially if it gets them over the hump. Scola is a starting caliber 4 that will be coming off the bench, Everyone knows he's a much better player than Hansborough; so bench production definitely wont be a problem next season. Hopefully health wont be a concern. Now the team will have to find a third center. Maybe they sign Johan Petro or someone like that. At any rate its an exciting moment to be a Pacers fan.

I've been the biggest "hater" of Plumlee since being drafted and in short: yeah, he's a stiff. When he was drafted (by some miracle he was taken in the 1st round, he never should have been) it was a low risk, low reward pick and he wasn't going to be anything special.

He doesn't do anything particularly well. His post game, though improved since it seems he has been working with Roy on his post hook, is nearly non-existant. With his back to the basket, he wants to pass it out it seems because he doesn't have the confidence, or skill for that matter, to score the ball that way. His one decent attribute is his ability to run the floor. He's very athletic for his size and he can certainly jump. That's his one way of scoring though: dunks on fastbreaks or putbacks on fastbreaks. He typically doesn't score anyway else.

His defense is meh. Neither here nor there. He doesn't have the size or strength to really hang with some of the bigger centers (and that's where his lack of offense really shows) so his best spot is at PF, but even there can does he have the quickness to guard say, Melo, LeBron, Josh Smith, or Al Horford when they play PF? Nope, certainly not.

Also, if it tells you anything, Jeff Pendergraph beat him out of the rotation last year. Given minutes, he'll give you hustle stats and be a positive influence in the locker room, but he won't ever develop as there's just no potential left to tap in to.

Hope this helps somewhat.

He's developing, though I do not see him as a regular rotation guy yet. Last season it was obvious that he needed some experience, and thus he was at the far end of the rotation. Last summer league was kinda good for him, but it is hard to tell because he was playing in a "lesser" competition.

Good thing is, the guy is above athletic for his size. Phoenix could be seeing something good about him, because all this time I thought the Pacers' front office is sold on Miles to take on Pendergraph's spot. Hard to tell, but the Pacers did the right thing. And Miles will only see garbage minutes in Indiana, whereas Phoenix can give him a little more playing time to be able to gauge his potential.

I would like to see him develop, and I wish him luck.

Love me some Luis Scola. Big rockets fan and always appreciated his hustle and hard work. Also has a sweet stroke from midrange that can help space the floor.
