Can’t ask for much better statistics shooting 42% from 3 and 61% overall. Out rebounded them 22-15 and only 2 turnovers. Defense was great on 3 point attempts with Bucks going 2-16 for 12%.

Happy for the Pacers win today.

Played great — Siakam, Turner, Nembhard

Played good to OK — Nesmith, Bryant, McConnell, Toppin, Walker

Need to play better—Haliburton and Mathurin

I really thought Tyrese would play better but this was a dud shooting wise with him never getting on track from 3. He still got 12 assists, 7 rebounds and 10 points but he needs to become a source of defensive worry for the Bucks.

I thought Nembhard was huge to start the game and it was great to see him play so well again.

Defensively game 2 they need to stay glued to Trent Jr., Green, and Porter Jr. and keep the rest of the team shooting 41%.

Haliburton was definitely good to OK. He didn't make shots but he made high-impact plays.

Tyrese will have to play better for the Pacers to advance. The Bucks led the NBA in 3PT shooting this past season with 39% and shot 9-37 (24%) in this game. I don't know if they can hit at their regular season mark throughout the series but i don't think they'll be at 24% again.

The Bucks starters just failed them,

Prince 0 points, Kuzma 0 points, Rollins 5 points.

Just a lot went wrong for the Bucks. And as we know well from last season, the goal of the road team is to just win 1 away game and you get two cracks. Last season, Pacers lost game 1 and it wasnt even close either, but we won game 2 and took home court.

As for Mathurin, i thought he was decent. I thought he did a really good job at attacking the basket and getting to the free throw line and ended up going 8-8 from the line which i thought was key. He also provided 5 rebounds and some good defense. He's a key player for us, so i agree he needs to be better but i was pleased with his game 1.

Measuring Haliburton by points scored doesn't tell the whole story. Besides we were comfortably ahead for most of the game so he didn't need to play hero ball although his 3 point shooting was off and needs to be better.

Sounds like Lillard will return tomorrow. He's been upgraded to questionable. Wonder how much rust he'll have?

I think winning game 2 is now very important. Hopefully he has some rust and can get a win. I don't want to be 1-1 and him start feeling like his old self. Make them try and dig out of a 2-0 hole as he gets rolling.

The Athletic has an article out today where anonymous players voted on topics and Tyrese was voted the most overrated player in the league. I see this as a possible jealousy vote as I’m sure Tyrese comes off as less of a superstar even though he puts up stats to back up his accomplishments. James Johnson was voted the player you would least like to fight.

For the Bucks Doc Rivers was voted third worst coach.

I think the Pacers starters played well. Second unit not as well. Defense let the Bucks back into the game repeatedly.

8 point wire to wire win with the starting unit all playing well. Double doubles for Tyrese and Pascal. I commend Aaron for trying to contain a much larger Giannis. Nembhard did a great job on Lillard and hit a huge game clenching shot. I thought the Pacers did a good job of limiting Trent Jr., Green, Porter Jr. from being contributors from 3 as they went only 2-6. Portis was stroking 3’s causing concern for the next game. Only 8 turnovers to the Bucks 15 and 5 more steals than the Bucks was good. Being out rebounded by 5 didn’t hurt them tonight. I like that the Pacers aren’t backing down from the Bucks attempts to be physical with the Pacers giving it right back to them.

The referee crew headed by Zarba is not one of my favorites. At least neither team is being favored and they’re definitely letting the men play.

The bench gave the first unit some rest but not enough scoring support to help build a huge lead over the Bucks. I wish Walker would have played more in control as I feel that’s what got him pulled. He was rebounding though. TJ missed a few shots he usually hits. Mathurin hit all of his free throws again and looked more in control tonight. Hopefully he gets hot and his confidence comes roaring back for next round. I’m not positive that he can take advantage of the Bucks defense like he does against other teams but fingers crossed.

Tyrese was 5-9 from 2 and if he starts hitting a couple more of his 3 point shots each game I think the Bucks don’t have enough to win the series and maybe not a game.

Both teams shot at a good clip. Pacers finished with 49% but both were remained above 50% shooting for most of the game. The key was our 100% at the free throw line. The Bucks figured out a way to slow the Pacers down tonight. Game 1 we outscored the Bucks 22-5 on fastbreak points, tonight we actually lost fastbreak points 9-4.

Can't remember last time we only had 4 fastbreak points? Also pretty impressive we were thrown off our game and still managed to score 123 points.
