We seem to subscribe to the "swiss cheese" defensive philosophy

Does everyone understand our defense?

We play a defense no one else in the league plays that I'm aware of. You guys do understand the principals right?

We, in all honesty, play a defense designed to give them shots deep.

We clog the middle and give up the deep shot, forcing teams into shooting contests. We want them to have to beat us with jumpers.

Problem is, we give up too many turnovers and mistakes on offense. Defensive wise, the rotations aren't very good at all times, but for the most part, this is what you get when you play this defense.

That's why teams like the Raptors kill us.

I like the analysis, but tonight the Nets are just driving on us to easy buckets...

That could be because that's how we'd prefer teams to play defensive against us and we're used to it...

If you heard that Granger interview on the RealGM Hoops show...he doesn't seem willing to take the reigns...

No, it's really our stock defense. it's intentional.

The idea is, you man up at first. On a drive, pass, whatever inside, everyone collapses as much as possible, then start your rotations to cover outside if it's passed out. Try to get a hand on the shot. Collapse Collapse Collapse.

Basically, 4 guys in the paint if the ball goes into the paint.

Good job Granger getting up there and getting fouled.
