Lamb ($10.5), #13($3.7)

Obi Toppin ($5.1)?
You get a bit more breathing room financially to re-sign a FA or two, and ofc get a look at Obi.
Absolutely not. You’d have to include the 19 or 21 as a trade down. Toppin, while not nearly as bad as he played this year, isn’t worth a lotto pick straight up right now. And Lamb is still useful for us.
Plus, the need for a Toppin diminished for us with the signing, and emergence, of Oshae Brissett.
Fair enough - no deal there.

If he isn't the answer LONG-TERM, rather than trade for a high priced substitute I'd much rather draft someone like Mitchell or Cooper and see if they grow into the answer. a defensive stopper at the 1 is about the only type of player that I can see having an obvious role on the Pacers as a rookie.

Caitlin Cooper with some GREAT thoughts and in-depth observations on potentially adding Lonzo Ball to this lineup. You might have to click through to the twitter thread to see it all. A bit too much to post each part of the thread here.

I agree with her conclusion.

Yeah if Brogdon isn't the answer (he's likely not), Lonzo certainly isn't either.

Re: 2021 Free Agency & Off-season
Trading Brogdon for Lonzo Ball just seems like a lateral move at best
Simmons is available, and potentially Lillard and Beal as well
I'd rather Pacers go after one of them
Or, how about a pipe dream where we keep Myles and trade everything else for Simmons + Beal
Myles, Simmons, Justin, Beal, Sumner
Goga, Brissett, Doug, Martin, Aaron, TJ
I'd be very excited to watch that team

Scott Agness reports that the players are practicing together in LA. Sabonis is in Lithuania but other 4 starters and some reserves are there.

JMichael called McConnell a virtual lock to return unless something changes.

This is nice but what I really want proof of is Warren healthy and going to practice before season starts and the same for Myles health.

I don't do Instagram so I can't dig deeper here but I thought the story had Warren and Myles both with the group in LA.

I believe Warren organized it. He’s definitely there, though, as the video originally came from his instagram account.

Re: 2021 Free Agency & Off-season
J.Michael mentioned Otto Porter as a guy the Pacers have liked in the past, and that his agents have been hunting for an MLE deal that isn’t likely to come. Maybe find a way to split $12m between McConnell and Otto? Let a veteran locker room guy compete with Kelan for the 15th spot?
Obviously, any trades happening in the next week could really throw this all for a loop.

Looks like trading Brogdon + LeVert for Simmons shaves another $6m off the payroll, bringing Pacers to about $19m below tax
$19m should be enough to bring back both TJ and Doug
So for practical purposes, we can think of the trade as Brogdon + LeVert for Simmons + Doug

Problem is Daryl Morey wants to fleece the team taking Simmons. Have you seen his ridiculous requests to Toronto and Golden St. ?
