Re: It’ll be interesting to see how Turner responds next season
I don’t want anything from the Lakers organization. Not even a cheerleader. I’d just rather watch them struggle than help them hoping the picks would amount to anything meaningful.
My argument against Myles is not that he’s a bad player, but that he hasn’t progressed to become a more rounded player. I’d rather spend big $$ on a 3 or 4 position stud if we can lure one here in free agency and spend less at the center position.

Well....I'd at least like to take a good look first.

Yeah, I get that. I know it was only one pre-season game that I've seen, but to me he looked very much the same as other years. Maybe he needs more time to get accustomed to the other guys. He had not even played with some of them before. Still, I don't look for much change from him.

I like Myles and still prefer to just keep him, but this is a hilariously on-brand way to start the year. His injuries are odd because he doesn't have some recurring thing that has become chronic like a back or knee issue. I found this list of injuries for him: https://www.foxsports.com/nba/myles-turner-player-injuries
It's a laundry list of different items. There are repeats, but all of these are listed at least once:
Foot
Illness
Toe
Ankle
Shoulder
Hand
Wrist
Knee
Neck
Calf
Hip
Face
Leg
Elbow
Thigh

There are only a couple types of injuries he has not sustained yet. With that in mind, I suggest his next injury will be to one of the following:
1. His shadow.
2. His reflection in a mirror.
The second one is really scary as it could trigger seven more years of bad luck injuries for him.

What are the actual things that he could still injure? I'm going to work my way up.
Achilles
Shin
Quad (He did Thigh already, but IDK)
Hamstring
Glute
Groin
Back
Abdominal
Chest
Poked in the eye
Broken nose
Dental
Baldness
I hope he doesn't actually do any of these. I'm sure this is even more frustrating for him. He's due to get paid so he's motivated to stay on the court. Dude is 26 and has a lot of games ahead of him. I do think the Pacers are going to milk any time off the court for him both to help in the tanking department and also to keep him healthy for a trade. Maybe this does move up the timeline on a deal. It seemed like last year he would get dealt at the deadline until he was out.

Keep the ball boys off the court. Well, for their own safety as much as anything.

The thing that gets me about Turner and Hield is that they are always a packaged deal and the only team in the entire league thats linked is the Lakers. No one else? Thats wild to me. No one has leaked theyre looking into Hield and/or Turner, they're having interal discussions, they're scouting, nothing. I find that bizarre.

the Lakers covet Hield's shooting and it takes a big package to absorb Westbrook. plus the Lakers have a history of leaking stories. other teams are more tight lipped.

It’s early in the season. As is often pointed out, teams generally wait until after December 15th when most of the league is tradeable to consider making any moves and get a feel for their teams.
Also, as has been reported by Agness and a few others, Indy allegedly hasn’t been shopping anyone. They’ve discussed offers that come in and whatnot, but there’s hasn’t been a clear sale of vets.

Pacers have some cap space remaining though, so Hield + Theis works as well for Westbrook
Honestly that's my preferred trade, Hield + Theis for Westbrook + one single FRP

If we could do that, that’d be great. It definitely won’t happen while Theis is out with the knee injury though.

Sure, but it’s a very good question you raise, too.
