My guess is they offered Hachimura + Kispert + Harrell + 2025 FRP

Hachimura = WCJ
Kispert + 2025 FRP = FRP + future FRP

The so called Vucevic offer

From Wizards POV, Hachimura is probably expendable if they plan to play Sabonis any amount of time at PF

They'd rather hang on to Avdija, so they'd prefer to offer Kispert instead of him

Harrell hasn't been too great and he's expiring, so he's mostly just salary filler, to be used in a trade like this

It's not a horrible baseline offer, but we'll probably want more than this

Also I updated my to trade list:

Brogdon
.
.
.
LeVert
.
TJM
Turner/Sabonis
Craig

KP needs to do Brogdon next in the off-season

Really not interested in Kispert either.

Me neither

I much prefer Avdija over him, but Wizards likely feel the same way

I like Hachimura though. He could have a resurgence after traded here

Even then, I think it’d require another move that clears some more cap. If we renounce Warren, right now we’re still better off operating over the cap with the McDermott TPE, the full MLE and the bae than just the $15m in cap space we’d generate.

I think our own 2022 first will produce a better Kispert. Only Ivey and maybe Davis aren't 3s or bigger.

Can’t trade Sabonis unless Rick’s in love with Turner.

I really think it’s so much easier to play offense through Sabonis than depend on outside shooting which would happen if Turner is the center. He’s hard pressed to make good passes. Of course his rim defense will be missed but insert Isiah Jackson.

It is a real shame Jackson is injured right now. I'd like to see him and Sabonis get a good amount of playing time together. Now, whether Carlisle would use that line-up, I don't know.

I'd also like to see Taylor at 3 or 4 and not just 5.

It sounds more like he's trolling the troll tbh

Yup. Just assumed some would see it in a couple,e days and misread it as unhappiness with the Pacers as opposed to the losing or the troll.

I noticed that the cap number got closer to the line with this trade, but I know there were discussions before about the various contract incentives that may or may not hit. Did LeVert have some of those incentives or have other things occurred (guys missing games for example or Sabonis not being an all-star) that have effectively neutered concerns about some of those incentives landing?

Yeah, we would clear another $1.3m in tax room if Sabonis isn’t named to the All Star team as an injury replacement, ent. Problem is, deadline is a couple days before he could be named, so you kind of have to plan for both possibilities.

Levert didn’t have any incentives to affect anything. Basically, we added $300k of salary in the Rubio/Levert swap.

Good to see Pacers are finally able to move on from having to pay Monta Ellis

Perhaps it's the Monta Ellis curse that Pacers have been continuously hit by injury after injury these recent years

My theory is that once Monta Ellis is completely off the books, the curse will finally be lifted, the terrible injury luck Pacers have had will finally be behind them

Return to Indiana Pacers
