Swider hasn’t been announced yet. I’d imagine we might see a report before his signing that the Mad Ants have acquired his GLeague rights? But, it’s also possible that they consider Swider for the big league spot as a Dougie replacement.

It's certainly possible we'll try to get his G-League rights so an Exhibit 10 would become possible, but didn't we read that he wants a standard contract or nothing? If true, he'll either beat out Brown or be waived.

As you know, having 16 contracts now is fully legal.

Hopefully Swider can beat out Kendall Brown and take his current roster spot as I feel that the K Brown development process has run its course without enough good results to warrant another year.

I expect that too. Kendall offers defense but not shooting. Swider is a shooter. we'll see if he can defend in the preseason.

I think it’s safe to assume he won’t. Otherwise, with his known shooting ability, if he could defend he surely would not be signing a non guaranteed minimum salary. :dontknow:

The question is, “just how bad is his defense? Can it be covered or hidden?”

There were a few of the analysts that compared Swider's defense to a "less athletic Kuzma from his first 2 years in the league". They went on to say that, he could still become an average, maybe better than average defender. He is young in basketball experience (at 25) & not fully developed. But, it would take significant commitment on his part to start making strides as a defender.

I'm glad Tyrese has a sense of humor about his lack of playing time in the games. I saw a report that he had some leg injury which contributed to that. I don't know if that was just some face saving news since it's hard to play everybody. Obviously, he had hamstring issues last year so I was curious if there was any more information about his health status as the offseason winds down.

Have to think Tatum not playing took the sting out.

Did a little bit of of looking,... all the reports I looked at (there are literally hundreds of them broadcasting the report),... seemed to go back to one comment made by Windhorst & not confirmed by anyone else? Doesn't mean it isn't true, but hopefully that signals that it isn't anything remotely concerning?

At this point, we have 19 on our summer roster. Have seen a number of posts & small 'blurbs' suggesting that we won't sign anyone for the 20th spot. That's cool with me.

However,... if the Pacers were interested in signing 1 more to a summer contract for a chance at a roster spot (guessing that they are happy with their 2-ways),... anyone have any thoughts on who you would you want them to consider?.....

You can have 21 on the roster in the offseason now. It changed from 20 when the number of Two Way spots increased to 3 from 2. We currently have twenty committed to the roster in some way (15 on the main roster, 3 Two Ways, and Cole Swider and Keisei Tominaga on camp tryouts). Who knows if they actually bring Tominaga to camp or just cycle him on the roster for 5 minutes to qualify for an exhibit 10 bonus, though.

Either way, I’m ecstatic they’re not just bringing the 18 signed to camp and having some extra bodies and using the extra spots available, like they did the last two camps.

I forgot. They’ve also committed to signing Josiah-Jordan James to an exhibit 10.

Oh, I desperately want them to bring 21 guys to camp. You’re given the spots….use them!

I would bet that Tominaga and James aren’t in camp, but just cycled through for 5 minutes to get them exhibit 10 bonuses and to Ft Wayne.

Any word on the TJM extension? It's pushing thru, yeah?

Haven’t heard anything. But, there’s also no deadline until June 30, since he’s in the last year of his contract. It could happen anytime this season.

It might wait a bit as Indy is aiming toward the luxury tax for 2025-26 (not this upcoming season but the following). We might have a choice between Obi or TJ in order to stay close to the tax.

At least Tyrese didn't get hurt like PG did years ago.
