I expect that too. Kendall offers defense but not shooting. Swider is a shooter. we'll see if he can defend in the preseason.

I think it’s safe to assume he won’t. Otherwise, with his known shooting ability, if he could defend he surely would not be signing a non guaranteed minimum salary.
The question is, “just how bad is his defense? Can it be covered or hidden?”

I don't know if that was just some face saving news since it's hard to play everybody. You can have 21 on the roster in the offseason now. It changed from 20 when the number of Two Way spots increased to 3 from 2. We currently have twenty committed to the roster in some way (15 on the main roster, 3 Two Ways, and Cole Swider and Keisei Tominaga on camp tryouts). Who knows if they actually bring Tominaga to camp or just cycle him on the roster for 5 minutes to qualify for an exhibit 10 bonus, though.
Either way, I’m ecstatic they’re not just bringing the 18 signed to camp and having some extra bodies and using the extra spots available, like they did the last two camps.
