Buddy wanted to play a different role than the Pacers were offering so maybe he’s happy to go to the Warriors. He bet on himself asking the Pacers for a trade and it cost him salary wise in the end.

As a Pacer fan I’m very happy the direction the Pacers have gone saving money and Buddy didn’t want to play the sharpshooter role on the second unit.

Yeah,... no matter how this plays out over the next year,... This one, for me, is a win-win. Buddy wanted something different, said so, & was the consummate professional about it. The team worked to help him get what he wanted without degrading his value, or putting out a negative narrative.

Team moves on in a planned manner on the finances & talent development. Buddy gets to move on to find what makes him happy.

I'll continue to root for him,... when he's not playing the Pacers. :)

Click on picture to see all of the picks. Crazy overpay of draft capital by the Knicks betting on the combination of talent they’ve amassed will be enough to carry them for years without new first round draft picks incoming.

Pacers have a huge payroll crunch coming a year from now.. would you deal with it now at the risk of taking a step backwards or just wait a year?

I've toyed with Nembhard to the Spurs who need a long term answer at point guard (they have CP3 for a year) and have cap room. a trade that is legal now is Nembhard and Nesmith for Sochan. would you make that offier? do you think the Spurs would do something like this? should I post the question on the trade forum or is that a waste of time as we won't do anything for a year?

From math I’ve seen, Indy has worked out their books to be able to bring on 15 players, and still avoid the tax if all the players hit their bonuses. I think that’s the plan.

I've seen the same but think it is a one year plan and it won't survive next summer. my question is whether rather than wait for next summer to do something, it might be better to do it now or at the deadline.

They’ve made the right moves rather quickly in building the foundation and been pretty solid in the draft. The Pacer’s front office appears to be very organized so I think they will be patient with this roster to see if more than expected maturation takes place and there needs to be a talent consolidation.

I’m thinking the front office waits until the trade deadline to see if there’s a prudent move available then, but I don’t look for them to make moves till after the season.

As I’ve mentioned in other posts I think there’s flexibility in the roster and the front office has a plan of who they think will remain with Tyrese and Pascal after this season.

I agree with one exception. Kendall Brown needs to earn his spot in summer league or training camp and if not he could be cut before his deal becomes guaranteed.

Problem is of course how many are going to be subscription service, not the Pacers, or not available in your area.

I wonder what the Pacers will do. I watched last year on Bally but Comcast (Xfinity) dropped Bally. it's in bankruptcy.

I'm still thankful every day that he is no longer on our roster.

Epic day, my butt.

shouldn't this thread be unstuck and a new one started for 2024-25?

Go ahead and start a new one for 24-25, and I’m sure they’ll get around to fixing the sticky situations sometime.
