Re: Does anyone here follow the G league ?
Mad Ants played today. Newly acquired center
Jordan Bell had 14 points on 7-12 shooting 11 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 steal, 3 blocks, 4 turnovers
Power forward Justin Anderson had 29 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists, 4 blocks, 3 turnovers
Small forward Nate Hinton had 22 points on 7-11 shooting which 6-8 were from 3, 12 rebounds, 1 steal, 3 assists, 2 blocks
Mad Ants looking like a pretty good farm system / developing grounds currently.

Agreed. They solidly came through with our Covid hardships.

Re: Does anyone here follow the G league ?
Wow Mad Ants record is 7-9 which isn’t anything special. I’m still believing that they’re doing good work and being able to train at the Pacers facility helps I bet.
So we had Sykes and Washington there to start the season off and on. Then came Terry Taylor up to the Pacers.
The surprising great part is between the Pacers front office and the Ant’s staff they’ve recruited some players that seem to have talent in the G league. Hopefully they’re developing/preparing these players in case we need cheap end of the bench depth in the future.
On the current roster you have
Jordan Bell 6’7” F former Warriors player 24-9-8 last game and had a triple double 3 games ago 11-10-11
Justin Anderson 6’5” F-G 6 seasons in NBA some action 2 games ago had 35 points
Nate Hinton 6’5” G-F was at Dallas with Rick and this is his 2nd year 26 point 10 rebound double double last game
Andrew Rowsey 5’11” G from Marquette 3rd season in G league who just put up 41 last game
Gabe York 6’3” G from Arizona 4 seasons international 3 seasons G league 26 points last game
Bennie Boatwright 6’10” F-C from USC a summer leaguer who got hurt that they like
currently injured
Interesting and of course I don’t expect the Pacers to find talent in the G league as good as Lance, Terry, Keifer, and Duane but ya never know

Yeah, I think Ft Wayne has a tough road as an affiliate in that you want to win for pride and to sell tickets, but you also have to focus on identifying talent and preparing it for the big league affiliate. And with Covid hardships this year, they were picked apart for awhile. It’s a really tough balance.

Right Scoot and I’m way more happy with them for producing talented players for the Pacers than they’re record being top notch. My point is I believe that they’re doing a better job than in the past of being a farm club.

Oh absolutely. It probably comes from the team buying them fully, and bringing much of their operations in house to Indy. It was a big deal a couple years ago that the Pacers asked the Ants to play the same style of play and calls that they did, which…makes sense!

I didn't realize Jordan Bell played for the Mad Ants, and also, i didn't realize Jordan Bell is 27.
I remember he was a Pacers realgm fan favorite back in his draft year. If i recall, there was some who wanted Bell with our 18th pick (Leaf).

Not a huge signing but who knows. Seems more like a point signing to run the Mad Ants this season.

Besides Kendall Brown, who are the players to watch on this team? Anyone worth keeping track of?

Thanks. I think this guy won the G league mvp last season? With so many players making the jump and sticking in the nba, I’m surprised Queen is back there after winning the mvp?

He was. He got a half guaranteed contract from Philly in July and then lost out in their roster crunch late in camp. At that point, a lot of roster spots were locked up and it was a tough spot to battle elsewhere.

Gabe York is out of control. Game tying three to force OT then game-winning three in OT. Thats wild no matter what level of ball you're playing.
Kendall Brown played good. 19pts and 6reb.
Gabe York 30pts, 5reb, 4ast and 4stl. Wow.
Deividas Sirvydis 28pts, 4reb, 4ast
Justin Anderson 21pts, 6reb, 13ast
Samuels jr 10pts
Mad Ants 2-0
