Draft Lottery Thoughts

After seeing the Pacers cemented into the 10th slot and the Nets missing out on the 1st pick, I think it is safe to say the Devin Harris to Indiana thoughts can be thrown out the window.
But, does this make Gilbert Arenas immediately available for the Wizards to trade...AND...would anyone take on his contract? If he can be traded, what kind of value does he have now?
The 76ers get the 2nd pick, do they try to dump Brand and pick a big or do they take Evan Turner, which would most likely make one of Andre Iguodala or Thad Young available.
Minnesota can't really pick a PG with their 4th pick, so it is either Wes Johnson or a big man. If they pick a big, then the Al Jefferson or Kevin Love really come into play on the trade market.
The Kings...well, they just can't catch a break...oh wait...hello Tyreke Evans.

My only thought- Did you guys see the disappointment in Danny Granger? I don't think i've ever seen that kind of disappointment in a person who is there at the draft. I think he represented the Pacers fan base the last several years. He seemed to look like our team is screwed.... how can i become confident about the team when Granger knows we're screwed?

I think Danny just being disappoint. He said he would pick John Wall if the Pacers could get the 1st pick in the interview of hoopshype.com. Now it just can't happen.

Danny just really wants a better supporting cast i think.
He ain't a young player anymore.
And he probably just had some really high expectations.

That's how i read it too. He wants another "star" next to him. And i think he knows it's going to be HARD to get anyone to sign with us in 2011. And he knows we ain't getting ANYTHING in a trade this summer. #10 probably won't land that player. A top 3 pick in 2011 would be a way to go, but, Granger is not getting any younger. If we get top 3 pick next year, i'd be better i think to trade Granger and rebuild around the 3rd pick, Tyler, Hibbert and who ever we get for Granger.

I felt good for the old woman with her dead husbands ring, but bad for us and that russian guy.

Hard for me to feel sorry for the Russian Billionaire! Did you see the life he leads?

Back to the draft, I wonder how the Wizards going to deal with their PGs.
Agent zero, who likely back to the team next season, hardly can be traded due to the Big big big contract...
Livingston, who played really well in the end of this season, is a FA this summer. Would Washington sign him back?
The Wizards may draft John Wall for the 1st pick. But if they bring back Livingston as a back up for Arenas, they could pick Evan Turner to improve their SG as well, which will let the Sixers facing the same problems of too much PGs. Wall, Louis Williams and Holiday.

I wish I could get a gif of Danny's reaction when he learned our pick.

Though i feel bad, there was no sort of luck whatsoever with the lottery for the Pacers, i think there's no point in looking back. I just hope we could utilize what we have and have a fruitful offseason and a good draft. That's what all i can think about right now, with very little optimism.

I'm actually surprised the Clippers didn't win it again to be honest.

Why is it that when I make "Hansbrough was a mistake" comments I always get torched on this board?
Viva la Hansbrough sucks!

He may very well "suck", but it's too early to judge it. Get back to me when he has a couple of full seasons under his belt.

Worst case scenario, if the head stuff clears up, Hansbrough is our new Jeff Foster....a player who has been a solid fixture in our frontcourt for somewhere near a decade. He might not be a great player, but can he be a valuable contributor? Yes. If you can get that type of player at #11, it's not a loss.
