Daniel Orton?

The Pacers have invited center Daniel Orton back for a second look, prompting rumors that they'll take him with the No. 10 pick.
This is far from a lock. Orton is clearly a project and probably won't be ready to help a team next year. The Pacers could also trade the pick for a point guard, and have other holes to fill besides drafting a project. But it's clear they're very intrigued.

I seriously hope we don't take him 10th. If we make the trade with Minny I wouldn't mind if we drafted Bledsoe #16 and Orton #23.

Please, no, NO Ed Davis or Daniel Orton. If Bird take either of those guys, then he might as well fire JOB during the draft, because those bigs will never develop as long as he is the coach.

Orton probably goin anywhere from 13 to 21. Pacers could pick him with 16th if they get it, but not 23rd. Too many teams need a big between picks 13 and 21. If he is there I would like him or Whiteside at 16 and Dominique Jones over Eric Bledsoe or Avery Bradley at 23.

He shoulda fired Obrien last off-season.

I think it's a ploy to get someone who is really interested in Orton to trade up and give us the better end of the deal. I guess OKC has been mentioned in being very interested in him.

Udoh is coming in for his 2nd workout as well so who knows what the Pacers are up to?

I'd go crazy if we pick Orton with the 10th.
yeah, maybe it's just a strategy to convince teams into making draft day deals, and at the same time, finalizing the fall-back plans if the trades won't happen.

I have convinced myself that this "news" means we are trading with OKC. We grab Orton at 10 and then get OKC's 21/26.
Maybe swap Harden and Rush as well?

If we could swap Harden an Rush I'd be happy...wonder if Larry is trying to grab Maynor as well

Daniel Orton is horrible right now. He needs TONS of work. He's like Cousins but w/out the athletic ability.

Why in the world would OKC give us Harden for Rush? The guy was the 3rd pick in the draft last summer and they're just going to give him to us for Rush who is going into his 3rd season with the reputation as a guy who might not ever live up to his potential (which isn't even as high as Harden's)?
Not to mention Harden put up nearly the exact same numbers as Rush did this season (Harden's rookie year, Rush's sophomore year) while playing considerably less minutes per game.

Picking Orton at 10 would be a stretch. Picking him around 16-20 would be completely reasonable and if he can fulfill his potential (which by most accounts is very high) we would have a damn near dominate front court with Hibbert-Orton-Granger within 2 years I think.

I dont think it is anything to be concerned about. To be honest, I think They'll select Orton for OKC for picks or a player to be named. I wouldn't read into this too much.

Notice the word MAYBE. I don't know why some teams do some of the things they do, but they still do them. I would actually prefer to get Maynor back in a trade with OKC, before drafting Bradley or Bledsoe

At #10 I think he's a reach, but then again I also think we draft him for the Thunder. Something to think about, is there any way we could trade Orton for someone like a Jeff Green?

Davis, Udoh or Bledsoe. There should be no other choices.

There is no way the thunder would do that.

There is. Trade the pick and get a solid point guard we need!
