The Timberwolves are offering the Pacers Jonny Flynn and the 16th and 23rd picks for a package that includes Indiana's 10th pick.

According to Mike Wells of the Indy Star, the Pacers have turned down an offer from Minnesota

I thought it was the one which the TWolves turned down but i guess this one's different.
It seems to me that the Wolves really really wants the 10th pick, and if this really is on the table, i'd say go for it, Larry!!!

Flynn + Orton/Udoh/Bledsoe(16) + Sanders/Whiteside/Armon Johnson (23)

Bring in Flynn!

The key part of that wiretap is their offer was for "a package that involves the #10".

The offer may have included both Rush and Hansbrough for all we know.

I would say it might have included Hibbert and that's why you guys turned it down.

I'm guessing Rush and maybe an expiring for one of their guys with longer contracts like Gomes. Unless Love would be dealt, i don't think they would ask for Hansbrough.
If Henry would be there at the 16th, then i wouldn't mind giving up Rush. I'm just not so sure who's pursuing the trade between Minnesota and Indiana, i don't know who would give in to make this happen. I'm anxious.

Same here. But really, i don't see us trading Hibbert. And maybe it's all just a matter of convincing David Kahn that Rush could be your starting SG, and that you can get a good big man with the 10th.
And maybe we could take on some longer contracts and give you guys an expiring in exchange. I don't know, a thousand thoughts are lingering in my mind and i can't wait til it's draft day.

Be aware that Gomes is only partially guaranteed and will be either traded for valueable assets or just released before the contract becomes fully guaranteed in July. He would save a team over the lux a lot of money.
Basically, the only contract you can take on is Hollins. Other than him we don't have contracts we want to get rid of.

Hibbert had to be involved in that proposed deal and I can understand that you don't want to trade him. At this point I don't think the Wolves would be interested in a Flynn, #16, #23, (Hollins) for Rush, #10, (+ filler) swap.
Even if you consider #10 for Flynn a fair deal (which David Kahn obviously does not because he rejected it) I'm not really convinced that we would like Rush over #16 and #23. I don't like it. :dontknow:

The best deal I can think of right now seems Sessions or Gomes, #16 and #23 for Ford and #10.

I'm good with that How about Sessions and Hollins plus the #16 and #23 for Ford, Solo Jones and #10?

I'm thinking 3 way deal with the Hornets:

Hornets get Gomes and Hollins

Pacers get, Songaila and Collison #16 and #23

Wolves get, TJ, Solo Jones, Rush and #10

Hornets cut Gomes save $3 million.

Pacers are saving about $4 million.

Wolves move up to #10. Still have Flynn and Sessions to trade in 2nd deal.

And yeah we have 2 of these threads maybe we should merge them? 8-)

if you go from wiretap to the Star's story, you'll find that Mike Wells is reporting that the Wolves turned down an offer. not sure why WireTap is reporting it the other way around.

Bleacher Report says the "package" includes Granger, so no surprise that Bird would turn down that deal. Only way I think he'd make it is if he can dump a bad contract as well and gets some an additional piece with value from the Wolves.

That site is a joke. If you believe anything in that article you are mentally challenged.

Not trying to sound like it's a legit source but it really won't surprise me if that is what the Wolves asked for. IF the Wolves did turn down 10 for Flynn it's unlikely the value anyone else on the Pacers roster that makes up the gap between Flynn and 10 plus the 16 and 23 picks (Hibbert and Hans don't fit needs for the Wolves and Rush doesn't seem like enough). Now I stated I didn't think that was enough to get Granger but Woj did leak the earlier Granger for Al talks and this would work off of the deal Woj reported first.

All 3 minny picks and Jefferson and Flynn might get me a little interested in a Granger deal but then????

First Wells said Minnesota turned down Flynn for the #10, then later he said the Pacers turned down Flynn, #16 and #23 for #10 and an undefined "package." I think. It gets so damned confusing with all the back-and-forth.

To me, Flynn looks pretty similar to T.J. Ford, so I hope any deal built around him falls through. I'm not saying that Flynn isn't good, just that I don't think he's the right pg for Indiana.

It's really hard to evaluate Flynn based on his rookie season in MN. The system Rambis established didn't showcase Flynn's skill much.

Is your entire front office suffering from a case of loser denial? No way in heck this deal would even be considered by Minn, and if someone is saying differently then they are lying.

relax. rumors are just never that credible. very preliminary discussions of the type "we have some interest in Hibbert ... well we would like additional picks" often get reported as a trade offer even though neither side was making a formal offer and both sides knew that no viable deal was on the table yet.

IF Hibbert was in this draft he'd be a top 5 pick. I would not trade him at all, a 7'2'' center who can play is too hard to find. Roy just needs to get his fouls down and he's gonna be really good. If we keep the #10 and Draft Udoh that could be a front court combo for years. Try to get a shot off in the paint with those two around.

My offer to the Twolves would be TJ Ford and Rush for Sessions and Gomes plus the #16 and #23. Maybe add in Solo Jones and Hollins.

Oh, the same team that drafted 3 PGs in the same draft, yeah they would never make a trade that doesn't make sense to others.
