Chad Ford's Mock Draft

Post#1 » by MUpacersSIC » Thu Jun 24, 2010 1:39 am

Chad Ford gives a preview of his mock draft for tomorrow morning. He has us taking Paul George. I'd be ecstatic with that!

"Our full mock, with over 5,000 words of analysis won't be up until Thursday morning, but based on the latest chatter, here's a sneak preview for tomorrow:

1. Wizards - John Wall

2. Sixers - Evan Turner

3. Nets - Derrick Favors

4. Wolves - Wes Johnson

5. Kings - DeMarcus Cousins

6. Warriors - Ekpe Udoh

7. Pistons - Greg Monroe

8. Clippers - Al-Farouq Aminu

9. Jazz - Ed Davis

10. Pacers - Paul George"

GS seems to be getting cold on Monroe, but i doubt it's real. Maybe just a smoke screen?
The Pistons seems to like Ed Davis at the 7th and the Clips would probably settle for a wing like AFA.
It all depends on the Jazz if they'll still pursue Babbitt with the 9th or take Monroe if ever he's still there. I hope that trade rumor with OKC pushes through. Yes, Maynor is a back-up, a good back-up. But if we can take Bledsoe with the 18th, i think we're good.

Well Chad Ford has changed his mock draft and now apparently his mind. He has us taking Gordon Hayward. If that happened I would be extremely disappointed. We need to swing for the fences IMO, and go for George.

now way Monroe falls to us in my opinion. don't have a good enough feel for George to get super excited about the pick, but definitely would not be disappointed.

please don't draft Hayward - even if you think he is a good player, it just adds to our reputation and we already have Granger.

His chat today was the biggest waste of time ever.

Dear God, I hope we don't pass up on Paul George for Gordon Hayward. Don't do it, Larry.

today's Star had a picture of PG shaking hands with Bird. it might have been the angle but he looked to be several inches shorter than Larry. if he is only 6'7" in shoes instead of 6'9", I'd pass. that said, if we take Hayward, I hope it is part of an unannounced trade. it would be an ironic reversal of two years ago if we booed a pick only to learn that a trade was in place. that'd make up for Bayless.

I can't believe I haven't heard this comparison but Paul George not only is going to be, but he already is Gerald Green.

Pass Pass Pass

We need someone who is at least going to be serviceable.

This is what I'm thinking

1. Wizards - John Wall

2. Sixers - Evan Turner

3. Nets - Derrick Favors

4. Wolves - Wes Johnson

5. Kings - Greg Monroe

6. Warriors - Ed Davis

7. Pistons - DeMarcus Cousins

8. Clippers - Al-Farouq Aminu

9. Jazz - Luke Babbitt

10. Pacers - Ekpe Udoh
