Pacers at #10--what will they do?

We're just a few hours away from finding out...but what are your predictions? Will the Pacers trade the pick, or keep it? If they keep it, who will they take? Guess whether or not they will keep the pick. Then guess who they will take if they keep it.

I think the Pacers will trade the pick. I just have no idea what the trade will look like, other than that I would assume a pg would be coming to Indiana.

But if the Pacers keep the pick, I think they probably are hoping for Udoh. My prediction, though, is that Udoh will already be gone. In fact, if the draft goes as I expect it to, I think the Pacers most likely will be choosing among Gordon Hayward, Paul George, or Xavier Henry. As badly as they want a pg, I just can't see them reaching for Bradley or Bledsoe.

I think the pick will be Henry. I'd be fine with that, because I think he's a good bet to become a solid starting NBA two guard, and because I've never quite been sold on Rush.

I think we do the Thunder trade IMO. If we draft Hayward it's going to be another painful year of watching the pacers and imagining what could have happened.

I just wanna know why Gordon Heyward at ten isn't a reach but Eric Bledsoe is, that makes no sense to me.

If we pick Heyward at 10 I am done w/ this team. For good. There are so many better options out there for us.

I think Hayward would be a reach too. But my reading of the tea leaves is that the Pacers are seriously considering him at #10.

It's gotta be Paul George. Our two biggest problems is winning and selling tickets. Sorry but drafting players like Hayward will leave us in the same position next year. I honestly think Hayward will be another Dunleavy. George can play three positions and with Rush, Granger, and George we will have mismatches every night.

I think the Pacers trade the pick. I'm saying the trade is Ford and 10 for Hinrich and 17. I'm basing this on O'Brien and Bird's history of drafting for immediate improvement. As opposed to the Oklahoma City trade that would bring a later pick or picks and Maynor, this trade provides a pg who is a known quantity. One could more reasonably expect immediate improvement.

Teams are considering Hayward as high as #8, so he's not nearly the reach that Eric Bledsoe is (who hasn't been linked to anyone in the lottery other than us simply because we need a PG that bad).

That's what I dont' get, why? How did he jump so high on everyone's boards? I hate to say it about my Caucasion brother but there has not been a good white american player come out of the draft since David Lee, and he wasn't highly touted like Heyward is. Sometimes history has to play a part.

Adam Morrison was the next Larry and now he is argueably the worst player in the league.

Hayward has had very impressive workouts, has said all the right things in his interviews and has just flat out impressed every team that he has visited. Whether any of us agree with it or not, that's why.

Well that makes sense, I guess....

Ric Bucher, who is usually pretty credible, is reporting that Chicago is trying to trade Hinrich to Washington in a salary dump. If that falls through, Sacramento is perhaps interested in a similar trade for Hinrich.

Don't know whether either move will go through, but it does seem more likely to be what Chicago would want in a Hinrich trade--immediate salary relief, so that they are all the more able to go after big-time free agents this summer. They don't want any T.J. Fords coming back to them.

Bird and his people need to do their homework and pick the best player available and need to strike gold. If they think Xavier Henry or James Anderson are that player, then we must get him, if they think Bledsoe or Bradley are the next star PGs, then we must grab him.

10 to MIN for 16 + 23?

David Thorpe - ESPN wrote:2 . Minnesota acquires a top-12 pick for the 16th and 23rd picks.

What grade would Chad Ford give the Wolves if they were able to grab both Favors and Ekpe Udoh, Xavier Henry, Paul George or Luke Babbitt? My guess is an A-plus-plus. The team that makes this deal with the Wolves could come off as a winner, too, as many people (including me) think that most of the players between No. 8 and No. 23 are about equal. So for some teams that just need cheap talent, this draft is perfect to add picks while trading down. The chance for Minnesota to grab two top talents, though, is the bigger part of this potential trade.

Here's the way I figure tonight.

If they draft any big or a PG at #10, pretty good odds are it's going to be a pick they keep.

Just about anything else, you can imagine there is some kind of preamble trade in place.

Would Pacers pass on Hayward?

The Indiana Pacers have hometown hero Gordon Hayward rated as one of the best players on their draft board, sources say, but are torn because they desperately need to find a point guard or a center in the draft. They don’t need Hayward that badly with franchise star Danny Granger on the roster.

Nevertheless, the Pacers are sensitive that Hayward could drop to them at No. 10 and could be ultimately vilified should they pass and he becomes a good player elsewhere. For all the reasons the Pacers want to trade out of the 10th spot, the specter of Hayward coming back to haunt the organization isn’t far down on the list, sources say.

Indiana is engaging numerous teams to trade for a point guard and picks further down in the draft. The Oklahoma City Thunder have been trying to move up in the draft, and some league executives believe they’re targeting Hayward.

– Adrian Wojnarowski, 3:50 p.m. ET, June 24

I like my Sessions/Gomes/23 offer more and more for both teams.

The question is simply will Orton be there at #18.

If the bigs all climb, that could be a definative NO, leaving the Pacers hanging and may not be able to get the right big they covet moving eight spots down.

Pacers and Nets discussing trade to send package including Danny Granger and 10th pick for Devin Harris, Yi and No. 3 pick, sources tell Y!

The Pacers would trade up to third spot to draft Derrick Favors. No deal imminent, and source says Nets interest is "lukewarm" on it.
