This is one trade rumor that makes a lot of sense for both teams. David Khan wants to get rid of Al Jefferson and Indiana needs another big to go along side Roy Hibbert. Indiana wants to get rid of Troy Murphy and his contract.

The rumor is Al Jefferson and Jonny Flynn for Troy Murphy, Brandon Rush, Tyler Hansbrough, and a future draft pick.

I found this at bleacher report. i dont know if i believe it though.

i think we would have to do it though it fills 2 needs. I just dont flynn will do well here and i think jefferson wont play well with hjibbert. they are both good players just dont know how they fit here.

I think that any trade with Minnesota is probably dead with what Kahn said about Bird recently.

You should have stopped reading when he says Indiana wants to get rid of Murphy's contract. Can't think of a single reason why we would want to get rid of a guy that does so much for our team while he's in the last year of his contract. Not that we wouldn't trade him, but if we were looking to dump him we'd have easily done it by now.

If there really is some truth to this (which I kind of doubt there is) we would have to do it. That lineup would be definitely give us a brighter future.

Why would we believe that Flynn does not fit into the Pacer system? Is it JOB?

Also, wasn't there some recent off court issues with Jefferson? I think this needs investigated; in addition, will Al fit into the Pacer system????? Will he play outside with face to the basket. If not, will he demand inside/paint touches that takes away from ROY?

this. of our expiring contracts, the only want we want to get rid of is tj ford. because he is a waste. maybe not on another team. but he is a waste for us. even then, it'd be better to buy him out than take back anything we didn't want. i think we like and need all of the other players with expiring contracts. we'll only trade to get back something good. otherwise we'll just clear the cap space.

no thanks. giving up Rush, Hans, and a future first is too much. Al Jeff's injuries are not worth it, even though i think he will be a good player. just too much on the table from the pacers.

NOOOOOOO way do I do this. I agree wholeheartedly with the last poster. I mean I would like to get Flynn, don't get me wrong, but to give up Rush, Hansbrough and a future 1 (I would assume)? That is essentially 3 of our last 4 number 1 picks for Flynn and Jefferson.

Jefferson also has 3 yrs and 42 million left on the table. He also puts up big numbers and has never been a winner (gee, remind you of anyone from a few years ago)? Jefferson is also considered to be a huge black hole and it was said Kahn was trying hard to get rid of his contract before the draft.

I would consider taking Jefferson doing Minnesota a favor in this draft. So really, the trade should be put like this:

Indiana gets- Flynn

Minnesota gets-

Murphy- expiring contract
Rush- young player
Hansbrough- young player who has shown promise
Someone to take away Al Jefferson's terrible contract
A future first, likely a top 10 pick

No way on earth should Indiana even consider that trade.

if they take out Jonny Flynn and replace him with Rubio. that would be a good deal

And if they somehow acquire Lebron James and include him it would be even better.

How would Rubio included make this deal even remotely close to good?

How do a second year PG and a rookie SG easily make the Pacers into a playoff team?

Don't believe anything at bleacher report.

How does David Kahn still have a job? This guy wants to trade Al Jefferson to free playing time for Darko Milicic. Insanity.

Add me to the group that doesn't like this trade. I don't think Jefferson is a complementary player to HIbbert. On the other hand I think Hansbrough is. My best guess, Kahn is desperate to move Jefferson and that fuels these rumors. I gotta think the Pacers would at least like to see Hibbert and Hansbrough play to gether before they break up that combination.l

I really like the starting lineup of Flynn, Goerge, Granger, Jefferson and Hibbert.

Although i don't know if giving up Hansbrough is the best idea. I'm guessing this trade won't happen now though.

I agree with that we are not trying to dump Murphy's contract that's stupid, but I don't put any stock in Bleecher Report they are notoriously fake!

Now the trade makes sense but I could see it being more like Murphy, Solo Jones, TJ, Rush and Tyler plus a protected #1 for Jefferson, Hollins and either Flyne or Sessions most likely Sessions.

But that said they have their PF in Love Center is the issue, now they are appearently signing Darko they may think they can rotate Murphy at Center and PF. This lets them out of all their long term deals if they include Sessions rather than Flynn and Hollins for Jones.

Kahn is the guy that traded Babbitt and Ryan Gomes(ungaranteed contract) for Martel Webster!

I'm sorry that is a terrible trade for Minny! They should have gotten a pick not gave one!

Bleacher Report is essentially bloggers. There's no accountability, and essentially anyone can write for them.

They're pretty close to being un-citable. Like Sam Smith or Peter Vescey, but actually worse!
