Notable 2011 Free Agents PF & PG

Unrestricted Free Agents
PF - Glen Davis, Kenyon Martin, Chris Wilcox, Zach Randolph, & Carl Landry
PG - Delonte West, JJ Barea, Mario Chalmers, Andre Miller (maybe), & Tony Parker
Restricted Free Agents
PF - Al Horford, Joakim Noah, Brandan Wright, Yi Jianlian, Jeff Green, Spencer Hawes, Thaddeus Young, & Jason Smith
PG - Rodney Stuckey, Aaron Brooks, & Mike Conley
If the Pacers roster stays the way it is this season no trades or free agent signings we should have 30 million dollars in capspace.(2010 draft pick salaries included)
The Roster after the season would be,
PG AJ Price
SG Rush/Jones/Stephenson
SF Granger/George
PF Tyler Hansbrough
C Roy Hibbert/Magnum Rolle
($)=millions
Tony Parker ($14-$17) would be my first choice at point guard, then Conley($6.5-$8), Brooks($8-$10), and Chalmers($2-$3).
I like Jeff Green and Carl Landry about the same, I think Landry would be cheaper tho. I don't like Noah but I think he would play good next to Hibbert. I like Al Horford, I also think ATL will trade him next season, but I don't think him and Hibbert would play well together. Jeff Green could be picked up because OKC would probly only be able to afford 2 out of Durant, Westbrook and Green. Green would probly be the odd man out.
Who do you think we should pick up if the Pacers don't make any changes?

In terms of plausible free agents, Tony Parker would be nice (maybe Conley), but I don't think the rest are within reach. I'd love to get Landry, but assume Sacramento will push hard to keep him, Green might be available, but he's not exactly a PF I'd like to see here. I also can't see Noah going anywhere.
In all honesty, most if not all of our offers for Restricted Free Agents would be matched by their current teams, and that list of Unrestricted Free Agents (besides Parker/Landry) isn't worth raw cap space.
Also, I'm very confused as to why Atlanta would want to trade Horford.

Problem is that 2011, plenty of teams have capspace, but there's just not as many great players out there. Guys will get overpaid in 2011, like Gordon, Turkoglu, Villanueva, etc, did last year, which was also a weak FA class.
For example, we can try to sign Landry.... but so can a bunch of other teams with cap space. So he'll get bid up a little bit and easily, easily get a 10 million per year contract. I like him a lot, but do you really want to do that?
I think we need to watch what Memphis does, and potentially try to grab conley from him. He's an RFA, and depending on their situation, there's a good chance they would not match a contract, or even want to take anyone back in a S&T. IF they re-sign Gay this year, they won't have a ton of room to re-sign Conley. Obviously Parker is a good option, but again, we're talking about a big big big contract for one guy who's starting to get up there in years a bit.
Not terribly interested in Stuckey.
Our best bet will still be to make Thunder-like moves, using our capspace to help out a team with luxury tax problems. Thunder essentially did that twice in the last year - picked up Maynor by taking on Harpring, thus freeing Utah of lux tax, and then moving up in the draft by taking on Mo Pete from NOH.
So there's certainly some opportunities to do that, since attracting FAs directly will never be an easy thing for Indiana.

Do you mean like take on Okafor for Collison??
I have no idea why people think Conely has ever done anything spectacular in Memphis, let alone want him to come here?! Tony Parker is almost 30, and most certainly will be looking for a long term deal that will take him to the end of his career. He was injured more last year than he ever has been? Spread that out over 4 or 5 years 10-13 mil. on a 30 year old point gaurd that has been in the league 9 years (at the begining of the contract). You do the math, but I want no part of that. Basically jowglenn hit it on the head. If we want a true difference maker, that will be able to make a difference for a long time here, we're gonna have to somewhere down the line eat a bad contract. We tried trding a pick, that failed. We have to use these expirings this off-season if we want to start winning. There is no one on that list that I want to even consider in a Pacers uniform as the answer, or even compliment...

Is there any way to tell which teams will have luxury tax problems? I don't know where to find that out.

Well we are gonna have to wait and see who signes who and what players get dealt. I'm thinking Dallas, Lakers, Olando probable $64 million committed to only 8 players, Cleveland if they resign James and Shaq and any free agents, San Antonio has $40 million committed to 5 players for 2011-12.
As long as we stay below the Tax level this season we should be ok for a few yrs. Maybe even be able to make on of those deals like the Thunder made.

Parker is only 27 or 28, most all-star caliber point guards are effective until their mid 30's, like Jason Kidd, Steve Nash, & Chauncey Billups.
And to the Al Horford trade idea, I think if Joe Johnson leaves Atlanta, which I think he does, They will be back in the lottery. When they realize they might have to start rebuilding, Horford probly has the most trade value on the team. He also isn't really a center, he is a PF playing out of position. Josh Smith, another PF, is the future of their franchise and Horford will probly become expendable, if so they can use him to find their future center. I think in the next 2 years the Hawks will look a lot different than now.

Sacramento has Thompson as their 4. Landry would be a nice rotational piece, like Lamar Odom on there but they aren't in a position to give out that much money to the bench with Garcia and Udrih makin what they are. I don't think Sacramento is satisfied with Udrih as their future PG so he probly gets moved for expirings at the deadline if they are out of the playoffs. They would be in the same position as us. Lookin for a PG thru trade or FA. I think they make a stronger push for a PG. Which gives us a better shot at receiving Landry or maybe Green at a lower price. Sacramento would be pursuing a PG and a SF thru FA. Which makes even more important for us to get our point guard now.
If Bird is happy with Hansbrough as the starting 4, He either offers Tony Parker a max deal or crazy amount to convince him to come here thru a sign and trade. I think that is a bad Idea. He has to have somethin good planned or he has been sittin around doin nuthin all this time he's been runnuin things. When was the last time he made a trade, Ford for O'Neal?(Excluding 2nd round picks)
