Any interest in another wing?

Melo may be on the block. Could he or Granger play the 2 ?

Could do something lik: Foster, Rush, Dunleavy, first round (top five protected).. Maybe just a rental, but Foster and Dunleavy would come off the books anyway. So Denver wouldn't have to commit to any long term money. Pacers get a player who has way more star power and ability than anything it's giving away. OR maybe we could get Melo to play the point!?! HAHAHA

I wouldn't give a 1st for a one year rental, but I would be interested in pairing Granger with another elite player. It seems the only way to compete is to have a supergroup. I'd be okay with Hibbert/ 4 6'9" guys (George/Hans) and a point guard yet to be determined.

Considering the Pacers have enough expirings to sign two max deals next offseason, we probably won't give away our assets to acquire a soon-to-be f/a a bit too prematurely.

Expiring for expiring is fine, but nothing else. Its really the same principal we had with possibly acquiring Tony Parker.

Initially that's what I thought about the pick, but considering that it's Melo there would probably be more attractive packages as far as what they could get back talent wise(win now) than what that offer has. That offer would provide more future based incentives for the Nuggets, and I imagine if we came with something like that they would either flat out say no, or insist that a first be included given that they'd be losing the face of the franchise. Who knows with a good season we could at least be in a better position to re-sign him, especially considering what the rest of the FA class is going to look like...

To get Melo, it would take Hibbert, Hansbrough, and George, or Granger + one of those 3 guys.

Anyone willing to pay that price? If we want him, wait until the summer of 2011 and see if we can sign him. Either way, if George looks like he's supposed to be anything, it might be a bad thing to sign another pure SF to go with a pure SF in Granger, and 2 SF/SG's in George and Rush.

I would do it only if I knew he would be willing to play the 4. With a nothing less than decent pg we would still be stacked. Hibbert, Melo, Danny, Paul George, and any starting pg in the league. Sounds decent to me. It will never happen though.

If we can get Melo for George and Hans we have to take it.

Uh, like I said before, add in Hibbert, minimum as well just to start the conversations. That wouldn't even seal the deal.

Melo would be good, obviously.
But too be honest, i definitley wouldn't want to give away George. I don't know why, i just really like this guy, he seems to have a great amount of potential to be something special.

melo not leaving. will work out an extension. and why trade for him when you could sign him outright?
