Farmar And Pacers Turn To Each Other In Desperation

http://twitter.com/wells222http://www.indycornrows.com/Pacers aren't in the market for desirable free agents, a desperate free agent like Farmar may be the perfect fit. Lakers let Farmar become an unrestricted free agent, but the point guard has his eye on Indiana. Pacers are desperate for a point guard and Farmar is desperate for some playing time.
PLease God if this is true at least let it be a one year type deal.

Your title is misleading. He expects Indiana to pursue him, but doesn't necessarily expect him to sign.

He's just interested because he wants the starting PG position.

There is one problem with that. He is no where near starting caliber!

Jordan Farmar...... Really................ I'd rather pursue Jerry West to come out of retirement than Farmar.

I'd seriously have either Ridnour or Steve Blake over Farmar. As a back-up? Maybe yes, but as a starter? Hell no.

I suppose if we could get him for really cheap it would be ok.
The guy is at least a smart player. His athleticism/scoring/basketball skills aren't that great, but he is smart.
Agree though, would rather have ridnour or blake.

Umm, not sure this is the PG I wanna see starting for us..
I would rather go for Ridnour or Blake if we spent our MLE money on a FA Point Guard.

Huh? His athleticism is one of the few strengths that he has.

Farmar and Foye for that matter are young and you could reasonably expect either to get better. Think Chauncy Billips. Have to think both of these guys would come pretty cheap. Could they both be had with the money under the mid level exception?
Farmar played rotation minutes on a championship team. Have to think that was positive experienced gained. You don't know how he might respond to the increased minutes he would receive here.
Foye has played his entire career in lousy situations. He went from a bad team with no wing players to trying to play next to Gilbert Arenas to the implosion post Gilbert Arenas. All pretty tough situations. Once again plug him in here and he might really thrive.
Its probably not out of the question you could get more from either of these guys than Blake or Ridnour. Its the unknown vs the known.

We went defensive last year.
Are we going athletic this year?
I wouldn't mind having him as our backup PG. If we could sign him on the cheap for a couple of years that would be all right.
We always have Ford to fill in for him this year.

I'd give him a year and another with a team option.
I don't like the guy but he's young so he can improve, and if he not we just let him go.
I think the same about Foye.

I'd guess Farmar might be a 2 or 3 million dollar player. Foye's probably in the same range. Blake and Ridnour are probably expecting closer to 5. Felton probably wants over that.
I've seen stories about the Lakers wanting to move Odom's salary. I think I'd give them Murphy for Odom and a signed Farmar ... or Brown?

I'm all for Odom to Pacers.

Odom and Walton/Vujacic Sign and trade for Farmer for Murphy Dahntay Jones and sign and trade for Earl Watson.
Odom
Vujacic/Walton
Farmar
for
Murphy
D. Jones
Watson
LA wouldn't just give up Odom. We'd probly have to pick up Walton in the deal. I would still do it. LA wouldn't do it just to get out of his contract. Odom has good contract for a player of his ability. Odom probly wouldn't want to play in Indiana. He has always been in a big market. Clippers, Heat, Lakers.
