DA DUDES HEALTHY. WAS WATCHING HIM PLAY IN HOUSTON WHEN FOR VACATION. THE DUDE LOST LIKE MAJOR LBS, ND THE KNEE DON'T EVEN HAVE A BRACE ON IT. I THINK HE MIGHT BE BACK. HE AND GRANGER CAN DOMINATE THE COURT WITH THEIR EXPLOSIVENESS.

eh I really like TMac, but we have wwaaaaayyy to many wings and we need to split time among our young players and give them time to grow.

He'll have to play on a one year show me deal in order to get big money from any team again. There is simply too much to risk because of his health woes the last two years.
I don't discredit adding him though. McGrady is a quality ballhandler and could be a dynamic player in a big backcourt with George and Stephenson.

OK. With TMac on the team, what is the starting line up and second string look like. Which wings are NOT on the team? Who do you keep for insurance?

Right now, we simply don't have a spot for him. We're 13 deep on signed contracts, and it looks like we want to sign our 2 2nd rounders immediately in Stephenson and Rolle. Add in that we want to sign a FA PG, and we're already looking at Rolle and Solo Jones playing for the last spot on the roster. We just drafted Paul George, and we already have Danny Granger as a superstar. We have a healthy Mike Dunleavy coming back, and two solid defensive swingmen in Dahntay Jones and Brandon Rush. That's 6 guys for pretty much 2 spots, when you count Lance Stephenson.
This just isn't the spot for a T-Mac or an AI. We're not close to contending. We're only going to hurt ourselves by signing a guy like this for them to win us games. Let's do the right thing, and play George, Rush, and Stephenson some minutes and see what we have long-term.

What the heck is going on with the pacers? why so many duplicates? who plays Center position? Ive always liked Granger.... IMO, DG > Rudy Gay, etc. I think he he deserves better than this year-in-year-out laboratory experiment of a team. GM should be fired...
Tmac plays the same position as Granger(??). Focus on PG/C & defense.

See the Iverson threads. It's pretty much the same thing. We have young guys in place, I don't want to waste a year on trying to revive the dead careers of stars from the last decade.

^ Exactly. They're well past their prime and i'd rather take on young rising stars who could stay for a while.

Technically it isn't our GM. Larry Bird is our President.

Center? Hibbert and Foster are two of the last pure remaining centers in the game. McRoberts, Solo Jones, and Murphy will pick up minutes there too. PF is Murphy, Hansbrough, McRoberts, and Rolle.
The swing positions (SG & SF) are completely interchangeable on this roster. Thus, you could play any 2 of Granger, Rush, Dunleavy, George, Dahntay, and Stephenson together at any time. PG's obviously the huge hole on the roster right now with Ford and an injured AJ Price as the only two dedicated guys to the position, with Dunleavy and Stephenson possibly picking up a few minutes here and there.

I think Stephenson could bring the ball up well, maybe he dishes to the high post or penetrates with the ball to initiate the offense. Although his recent minor-injuries are somewhat of a red-flag to me. Even to the point that I don't know if he can be depended on as a b/u. If health was not a concern, I'd be comfortable knowing Lance would contribute at the 1.

To me, until he can do it reliably as a PG in official games with consistency, I just will not believe it.
I'm a Notre Dame fan. I've been burned by believing too quickly too many times. You've got to show me first, before I accept blindly.

^^Hell, at this point I don't think the football program is going to have a winning season until a '7' shows up in the win column.
