On the Trades and Transactions board he is mentioned in about 5 or 6 trades on the first page. All of them created by nonpacer fans. When Pacer fans reject the idea, they say he is overrated and is worth a future 1st and expirings. I think we got a player everybody in the league wants but can't get. Is this good for the Pacers? I feel it is.

Doesn't worry me either way right now. I sincerely doubt he goes anywhere in the next few seasons unless he can be traded for a player with greater value.

Granger's Value? thread ain't even a day old and has over 1000 views. A lot of people like him, which means his trade value goes up. I just hope Larry doesn't get pressured into tradin him.

Right. Bird may be crazy when he dealt Diogu and Bayless to Portland, but he won't easily dump the franchise player away. Look how long he stuck with Jemaine O'Neal. We don't have to worry about losing Granger simply for some role players.

Seems so. His contract is through 2014, so the pacers don't have to worry about him leaving. It's a little big, but he's worth / the pacers have almost no other bad contracts.

Jazz fan here, I heard rumors of AK's expiring (18 mil) + picks for Granger + bad salary. Came on here to see if you think there's any truth to these trade rumors (not the Jazz, but just for Granger in general).

Seems like it's mostly bull, considering you don't need more expirings.

Sounds great.. but CP3 would be gone in 2012 if Granger wasn't here. So it sounds less great. I'd rather take my chances and target guys like CP3 in f/agency to pair with Danny. That would be the only way he'd play here, if he even would.

What would the point of the trade be? We trade one franchise player for another and they still don't have much help.

I want to re-evaluate Granger after the World Championships. Whether he's selected, whether he plays significant minutes, how many shots does he take/make, etc. are all things I would look at to see how outsiders gauge Granger as a player. How is he when playing with other stars? It isn't a complete measurement, but it would help us determine his worth.

Granger's contract is going to become one of the most attractive in the league, because he isn't overpaid compared to others at his position. Add this onto the fact that he is our franchise player and that makes his value skyrocket.

In order to get him, teams are going to have to overpay to get him.

This doesn't make much sense.

First, it's now CP3 wants the Hornets to trade him. The Pacers are not rush to deal with Granger, since he's fine in Indiana. Not to mention another big young potential kid, Big Roy, who still in his rookie contract.

Second, Larry Bird already said he's not going to take any ugly contract, which means he's not likely take Okafor. Also, the best position for Okafor is PF. If we deal Hibbert away, he would play center like what he didn't do well in New Orleans.

Third, according to the source, CP3 is now asking to be traded to a contender, like the Magic, or teams that have an All-Star, like the Knicks. If we trade Granger for CP3, CP3 might still asking to be traded again or opting out his contract in summer 2012. If so, the Pacers will lose a franchise player and load with Okafor's contract, be in the situation what Cleveland are faces now.

Just remember that it's now the Hornets are urgent dealing CP3, not the Pacers having problem with Danny Granger. If we want to get CP3 and take Okafor as well, Tory Murphy, T.J. Ford, Solomon Jones, Brandon Rush (or Paul George), and a future unprotected first round pick is the most value I think the Pacers would like to give.

I also want to re-evaluate him, but for a different reason. Remember when the demands of team USA and the NBA turned JO into a cripple?

I don't want the three year commitment, either he should play in the Worlds, or the Olympics, and then be done.

Yeah there is no way. It would take a lot to get him and didn't Utah just deal their draft picks away for Jefferson? I can't see a deal with the Jazz.

I'm interested as to why that would make a lot of difference, I just don't see it.

I guess it's not as much how WE see him, since that will be the same, but it's about how other people will see him since not very many people see Danny Granger play.

I could see it, because let's face it, we constantly say Danny is a top 15 player, if so, he should be a starter and play major minutes because so many top players are missing.
