I like the deal ok. Wouldn't be mad if it happened. I would prefer a little more beef than what AK brings, but it would do. Although i think it would have to be more like foster and ford. If UTH traded away AK for Mike Jr. and Ford there wouldn't be much left down low for them.

We need Foster with Murphy gone. Hibbert would be our only center.

That's an OK trade, I'd accept that but barely, AK is more of an offensive PF, we need defense.

AK is more of defensive player, all right? He's not a good one on one defensive guy, but a great help defensive guy.

I think this trade is okay with the Pacers, but I don't think the Jazz would like it.

I saw the thread where it was kirilenko for dunleavy, d.jones and s. jones. Salary difference is about 3.5 million, but I can understand why Jazz would do it. glut at PF, very shaky on the wings. Most of all, it almost gets them out of the luxury tax. Remember, they dumped Maynor to clear out Harpring's salary and get under the lux tax.

This deal at least gives them some wings, which they desperately, desperately need, and gets them more players.

Good for pacers - take on a bit of salary, but clear out unneeded guys for a very very needed guy at a key position. Would love to see kirilenko here.

Younger yes.... When Dunleavy is on his game, he is pretty damn good, especially if he can play like he did a couple years ago

AK and Dunleavy perfromed almost identical last season. AK played more mpg, so he had better stats, but their production per minute was similar.

I'd also be willing to see how things shake out in ATL. Horford pretty much demanded that he return to PF, and the team has already complied. Where does this leave Smith? I'd take either off their hands.

Also, there is the possibility of signing Sean Williams to a ten-day contract or something. After living in China it apparantly matured him and he is ready to play in this league again. He is better than all of our b/u bigs, and I bet you his defense is right there with JSmith. Check out some of his stats from the Chinese Bask. Ass., if you can find a link.

I'd take a flyer on AK-47 for a year, but I'm not sure he's the long-term answer either. As another poster alluded to, I'd take whichever one of Horford or Josh Smith, Atlanta can't keep.

No, on Sean Williams, keep the character concerns away from the Pacers.

Don't ever think that the Chinese Basketball Association stats that guys put up are valid. EVER. Bonzi Wells put up 30/20 over half a season there. Just 2 years ago. Not even in his prime.

Mamadou N'Diaye (or however you spell his name) put up 15/15. I'm sorry. There is not a single player's stats in China that I would believe. Hell, David Harrison put up 18/12/5 blocks. We all know David Harrison.

If these stats were valid in any way, Bonzi, N'Diaye, and David would all be starting in the NBA this off-season. Since none of them even sniffed camp invites, I think a point has been made.

I don't want him because of his play in China, I only mentioned China because living there forced him to mature. Hell I might go pro over there, you never know, an average Hoosier is well above-average in terms of being average.

I am interested because of what he did at Arizona by the way.

I believe in second chances, especially if he can average 2-3 blks per.

Sean Williams never played for Arizona. He attended Boston College and then was drafted and played for New Jersey.

As far as the PF position is concerned, I'm completely content to let Tyler, Jeff, and Josh man that position all season. We're never going to know exactly what Tyler and Josh can give us, unless we give them a chance to get extended minutes consistently. I say go into the season with our front-court rotation as-is and then next summer go after Al Horford HARD!

Hmm? What about either Kirilenko or Millsap is worth Granger?

Deron Williams is the only guy on your team worth Granger. Yes, he's worth Granger plus more, but there's no other combination in Utah that makes sense in Indy. Millsap is nice and all, but nowhere near Granger value.

Somehow I doubt that Dunleavy came anywhere near AK in the blocks department. Not the same ballpark, not the same town, probably not the same zip code.
