Indy-Utah Deal?

Post#1 » by ajizzle » Thu Aug 26, 2010 8:19 am

Just an idea I've had for awhile... wanted to gauge interest from the board.

Trade ID #5678297

Basically, we get AK-47... Utah gets Feisty, Ford, & Dahntay.

Utah needs some help up front, with Fesenko not sure if he's re-signing, and Okur's status with the injury, they're gonna need a starting center, at least for the beginning of the year. Yes, I know, Jeff is also recovering, and he's also the reigning Mr. Pacer and we love him, but this would give him a legit shot at a title this year, and you know Sloan would love him. We may need to package Solomon Jones or the rights to Lorbek or Stanko, but the Jazz get help at C, Ford in a contract year in an offense where the PG dribbling all the time is doable, and more perimeter D in DJ to back up Bell.

Indy wants to sign Rolle, but we gotta move some players to do it. AK-47 has been mercurial and unhappy in Utah, and also in a contract year, would help us fill our void at 4. He's the famous 5x5 stat guy, so he'll help in all facets of the game while not needing the ball that much. Put him with Roy, Danny, Posey, and DC, we have a versatile SL that can play that 4out1in style Obie likes. AK is a good defender, and we can sign Rolle and go into the season with very few holes on the team.

Utah needs a healthy big man, someone who can start in case their injury-prone starters Okur and Jefferson go down, and i don't think they'd like Foster who's as fragile as the two.
I don't think Bell would be the starter, it'll probably be CJ Miles, and that could be the rotation for the next season. They'd need depth at the 3 with Hayward probably the starter. Though Dahntay can play SF occasionally, he's a natural 2 and would probably have nightmares defending against stronger, bigger guys even if he's ultra athletic. It is at the SG position that coaches could expoit playing him.
I think it'll be better for Utah to keep AK in this proposal.
