There's not that many permutations.
PG: Collison
SF: Granger
C: Hibbert

Only the SG and PF positions have any movement. I'm guessing Rush starts at SG once he's back from suspension since that's what he's done for the last 18 months. That really only leaves the PF position and that's the one that no one has any idea about. I hope it's a healthy Hansbrough, but it's probably Jeff Foster since that's what Mike Wells mentioned recently.

Ideally:

Collison
George (I think he's that talented, but Dunleavy will do, I guess)
Granger
Hansbrough
Hibbert

G's on the wings, H's in post.

I believe I read that Paul George has tweeted that Hansbrough is "back". My guess would be that it means full contact scrimmages.

If he's good to go, I second M4E's suggestion.

My guess: Collison, Dunleavy, Granger, Hansbrough, Hibbert.

If he's healthy, Foster could very well start over Hansbrough. Frankly, though, I don't expect Foster to give us much this year. If neither of those guys are healthy, then our front court is going to struggle.

O'Brien loves him, but Dunleavy has to prove he's back to 100 pct. as well. If not, the starter will be Rush...or a surprise starter such as Posey or maybe even George.

If I had the power, this is what I'd do...

James Posey 6th man

If I had the power, that's what I WOULDN'T do. Foster or Dunleavy should be coming off the bench first, one for energy and one for facilitation. Posey used to be good, but this is not the same Posey of days past.

Hell, Rush should be ahead of him in the depth chart on D alone.

Well, you said Posey used to be good. But what about Dunleavy and Foster? They are not the same too

But hey, you guys are Pacers fan for a long time, I'm just here trying to understand more about this team!

My starting 5 would be...

PG - Collison
SG - Dahntay Jones (with Dunleavy and Rush swapping backup minutes)
SF - Granger (with George and Posey swapping backup minutes)
PF - Hansbrough
C - Hibbert (I'd leave Foster to back up Roy)

these starting line-ups look solid, except wow - we really need a PF, ha.

Honestly, I see Foster starting but getting sixth man minutes. I see Hansbrough as raw, too raw to start at least, Foster is injury prone but still he's a big body.

Point guard: Darren Collison, he's what our franchise aimed for and we got him.
Shooting guard: Jones, he's a good defender (Well, in Denver) and is a nice guy and pretty athletic.
Small forward: Granger.
Power Forward: Jeff Foster. Foster, although old and injury prone - he's gonna start. I just suspect it.
Center: Hibbert for sure.

Sixth Man: Dunleavy/Hansbrough.
Roleplayers: James Posey, Rush, George (Until he proves himself).
Bench warmers: Solomon, Magnum.

In most cases, I would agree with you about Foster at PF, but I would think they would want him as a backup center in case Roy gets winded and/or in foul trouble. And since I don't see Hansbrough, Solo or J-Mac playing center, process of elimination has me going with Tyler.

Foster starting at PF could happen though.

This is what I'm hoping for.
Collison
Rush (after he is back), D.Jones (while Rush suspended)
Granger
Tyler
Hibbert

The above assumes Tyler is healthy and can play. I also think that regardless of the situation Mikey D is best served as the 6th man.
Another thought, against smaller teams is
Collison
Rush
Mikey D
Granger
Hibbert

Looks like the Pacers already have their desired starting lineup posted on pacers.com

have to wonder if the starting 4 is on the roster yet. my guess is they hope not. I don't see Tyler as ready and agree that Foster is probably better used as center. if McRoberts has worked his way out of the dog house, he might be ready for bigger minutes. on experience alone though you might have to go with S Jones.

if you want to ask the related question of who is one the floor in the final minute, then Tyler might be the answer although you can't discount a small ball lineup with Danny at 4.

I don't get why Paul George wouldn't see many minutes when your front office picked him ahead of Cole Aldrich and Ed Davis? They must've been intrigued by his potential so why wouldn't he start? It's not as if you're in a win-now mode anyways, your team is still in the rebuild which will probably be completed by next year when you'll have enough cap room and possibly another lottery pick to round out your roster.

So as an outsider I'd say give George a shot to prove himself. He has the ability to be a very good player.

I agree. We know what we're going to get out of Rush, Dunleavy, and Jones. George has the potential to be better than all three so he should start. Only problem is O'brien is the coach and I can honestly see him going with Dunleavy to start the season.

Obrien says he likes a 10-man rotation.

Collison/Stephenson
Dunleavy/Rush
Granger/George
Hansbrough/McRoberts
Hibbert/Foster

Bench-warmers: Ford, Price, Posey, D. Jones, S. Jones

Tyler is the best power forward we have, and it is not even close. @ 18 mpg he avg'ed nearly 9/6. If Jim bumps him up to 30 mpg I don't see any reason he couldn't average 14/9, in addition to that, he'll draw fouls and play with wreckless abandon. I love wreckless power in the post because that is what Hibbert needs next to him.

While George is clearly the second most talented wing on our roster, I still think Dunleavy will initially get the nod. Supposedly Mike is in great shape, couple that with the success he had before the injury and it becomes pretty clear, atleast to me, that he will start. The only way he doesn't start is if George exceeds him. None of the other wings even approach Mikes high quality of play.

I'll go with Mizzou's starting five.

My guess: Collison, Dunleavy, Granger, Hansbrough, Hibbert.

He also shot 36% from the floor which is terrible for a backup point guard let alone a starting power forward. So those were some very inefficient 9 points he was putting up on average. Also....it would be nice if he made it easier on himself by learning to pass.
