Upcoming Season

First of all, Hello everyone, I'm from the Los Angeles area and I became an instant fan of the Pacers the
moment Reggie started dropping bombs on New York! (hence my username). Glad to meet you all. I've been reading posts for over two years and I am as a die hard pacer fan as you can possibly be, so I have decided to sign up and put in my two cents all the way from California.

My topic to you is, what seed do you think the Pacers could end up being this year? I can honestly see them being up to a 5 seed. I know that is alot to ask for but I just have this feeling that the team will
mesh quite nicely this year. We have a very strong nucleus in Granger, Hibbert and Collison and I feel that we are definitely going to surprise a few teams
in the league this year. I can easily see our
team getting up to 48 wins this year. I haven't been this excited about an upcoming season since who knows when.

And can we pleeeease get a new coach asap?!
:D

Welcome to the board.

I can't say I see us doing that well this season. Call me a hypocrite but I think this team might need a little time. I am also very excited though and would love nothing more than to see us sneak into the playoffs.

Good times are ahead, that much is certain.

Probably I'll look back on this in a few months and laugh at myself, but I think if all goes well the Pacers could finish a few games over .500 this season. That's if Collison doesn't disappoint, and someone fills the crater we have right now at power forward (Hansbrough?).

I think an above .500 record would put the Pacers in the running for about the sixth seed. Miami, Orlando, Boston, Chicago, Atlanta...those five teams probably will be well above .500 and unlikely for us to catch.

After those teams, though, it thins out pretty quickly in the East. Milwaukee is likely to be pretty decent. After that? Maybe things will work out for teams that significantly rebuilt themselves, like Washington and New York. Or maybe not. I think we can hope that the Pacers will finish ahead of those teams.

I think the keys are Dunleavy and Foster. if Mike can play like he played before he was injured and Jeff's back lets him fill the hole at 4, I agree we can surprise.

This team is scary in that it can go 20 wins or 50 wins, and you could make reasonable arguments for either.

I think this is along the right lines. It's crazy how much rests on injuries, and if like past seasons might not turn out so well. I can see us possibly getting the 7 or 8 seed, no higher. I'm willing to be patient though this year. Next season will be when we can truly get excited (if not for this season's trade deadline). Can't wait! Go Pacers!

Always glad to welcome another Pacers fan! Best-case scenario, I see Indy getting the 7th or 8th seed. I think it will be Miami, Chicago, Orlando, Boston, Atlanta, and Milwaukee getting 1-6 in that order. Then, I think the Pacers, Nets, Knicks, and 76ers will fight for those last 2.

And I'm with you! I feel a new coach will help things immensely! And if Larry Bird isn't the GM, I want Kevin Pritchard, the ex-Portland GM. He was able to take the "Jail Blazers" to playoff regulars and he's a native of Indiana. Let's give him a shot!

Firstly, welcome to the board 8points.
I agree with you chube for the most part although I think the best case scenario is we challenge the Bucks for the 6th seed.
Otherwise I see us anywhere between 6-9
