Hey everyone,

I will be traveling down from Milwaukee for the game nov 5. Are there any decent hotels near the stadium that are close enough to walk to the game? Same goes for bars and stuff for afterwards. Suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Eh, Downtown Indy really isn't that spread out so almost any hotel would be decent distance wise.

There's a pretty nice hotel, a Hampton Inn I think on the same street as Conseco...just a couple blocks away. And while walking to the stadium, you should pass a handful of bars and restaurants.

Yeah, any of the Marriott's downtown (the full-service, Residence Inn at White River, and if the new Marriott tower is open) would be perfect. Short walk to everything, and there's even a ton of skywalk's connecting buildings, malls, etc. Anywhere in the heart of downtown is perfectly fine as it's all a short walk. All the bar's are in between as well, so it's not really a worry. If you like a huge Dave and Buster's like place, think Gillian's. If you like music, you HAVE to hit the Slippery Noodle. If you like a lively atmosphere, you can always do something like Howl at the Moon. Tons of little bars in between. Nothing more than a 10 minute walk.

Gillian's is hard. Me and my aunt used to live in the Motel 69 on E. 38th and N. LaSalle. Nice Place, Good People.

If Motel 69's are not your thing, then you can walk down the street and find a box in an alley behind the corner of E. 38th and N. Parker, you know, across the street from where Meadows Projects used to be.

I booked a room at the University Place Conference Center and Hotel. Only 2 miles away, seems walkable to me.

You can catch a lot of nice visuals over at the Student Center, caddy-corner from where you're staying.

it's a nice place but not nearly the closest for walking. I think they'll shuttle you to the game though. the Red Line Bus will also get you close although it stops running too early to get you back. I'm sure the hotel can help you.

I'm sure you could have booked a room at Motel 69 for at least half the price. :(

I know I'm going to regret this, but what the hell is Motel 69?

Yeah, I used to work down 38th Street for a year or two, and yeah, I've heard of "Motel 69's" but your comment about living at one with your aunt for awhile threw me off.
