It seems that many teams want him. What do you think about? Maybe, Solomon and Dahntay is not enought but Brandon Rush?

It works but I wouldn't want anything to do with his contract.

It's Jeff Foster-type money and productivity. However, I would look to shore up other areas since we have Jeff Foster along with McBob and Hansbrough, one or both of which will be Jeff Foster v.2

I hope you know we overpaid Foster by a lot. He wasn't worth anything near that contract.

We have overpaid nearly every player we have ever signed to an extension, JO, Foster, Tinsley

Players like JO were the exception. Would you have given Croshere or Foster their contracts? We overpaid for no reason. They weren't worth 4 mil a year, so why overpay? Let another team get screwed over.

Your right, JO just got hurt. I think most teams over pay big mean anyways. Not just us. Foster isnt worth what he is making but I bet you a healthy Foster starting could still average 8 rebounds a game

The point was you will have a hard time replacing a player like JO. You won't with a player like Foster.

No, we replaced Foster with Hansbrough, JO still hasnt quite been replaced, scoring has been with Danny but rebounding and blocks hasnt unless Hibbert can play like we know he can

Foster wasn't an overpayment at the time. Healthy, any championship team would love him as a fixture in their big man rotation.

This sums it up pretty well for me too. While I don't mind the guy, I can't see a reason to pay him that money, at least right now.

If you look at what he has done before his injury, such as rebounding, low post defense, experienced veteran and silent hard worker, I think he worth that contract when the Pacers extended his contract 2 seasons before.

JO was a 23 year-old all-star PF with 20-10 per game in the offseason when the Pacers extending his contract. Back then, Walsh was very generous to the Pacers. Both Bender, Harrington, and Croshere got the contract more than they showed in the game.

Two reasons tells that. For one, IND Pacers doesn't have big market like the Knicks or Lakers to attract free agents. Only by giving big contract would keep good players stay. For another, the league didn't set up the luxury tax level. So the background was guite different from now. You should look at every side before you judge it.

And back to Anderson Varejao. He's a good player for sure. But since his contract is too long, I wouldn't go after him and I think both Morey and Bird knows that. On the other hand, I don't think the Cavs will not trade him for Joes boys and Rush, either.

Not sure Cleveland really wants to move him anyways. They already lost LeBron, I doubt they want to lose one of their more likable players as well.

Indiana has been the poster child for the damage long term contracts to roll players can cause. II'd hate to see us start back in with contracts like this before we give ourselves a chance to operate under the cap for a season or two.

I dont want open other topic for this. Sacramento/Indiana trade

Mike Dunleavy + Dahntay Jones + Solomon Jones xxxx Samuel D´Alembert + draft picks

The rotations

Darren Collison/ TJ Ford / AJ Price
Brandon Rush /Paul George / Lance Stephenson
Danny Granger / James Posey
Samuel D´Alembert / Tyler Hansbrough (sign again Magnum Rolle)
Roy Hibbert / Jeff Foster

I Know that Samuel is not a PF but he can defend it and Roy Hibbert would be less charge defense
