Hopefully, Larry Bird for Reggie Miller; David Morway for Kevin Pritchard; JOB for Jeff Van Gundy or Mark Jackson

Re: 2010-11 Trade Thread: ALL TRADES GO HERE
Thanks
Mike Dunleavy + Dahntay Jones + Solomon Jones xxxx Samuel D´Alembert + draft picks
The rotations
Darren Collison/ TJ Ford / AJ Price
Brandon Rush /Paul George / Lance Stephenson
Danny Granger / James Posey
Samuel D´Alembert / Tyler Hansbrough (sign again Magnum Rolle)
Roy Hibbert / Jeff Foster
I Know that Samuel is not a PF but he can defend it and Roy Hibbert would be less charge defense

It matters a lot what draft picks you're talking about.

Dalembert is obviously a solid defender, but he's a liability on offense. I'd rather have someone like Kevin Love (maybe a bit of a reach), Carl Landry, or someone like that.

Is Kevin Love or Carl Landry an upgrade over Hansbrough?

Love is definitely an upgrade. Basically a better Hansbrough with a three-point shot.
Carl Landry hasn't been able to blossom, but he's been productive quietly.
At this point both would be an upgrade, but we won't know for a while, because I think Hansbrough with his hustle can exceed at least one of them.

What? Landry was considered an all-star snub by some people. I think he is better than Kevin Love right now. Almost anybody is an upgrade over Hansbrough. Posey is getting minutes over him.

Yeah, we won't be able to get Love.
I do think Landry is in the same boat currently. I think SAC would be more interested in moving Thompson ahead of him.

Re: 2010-11 Trade Thread: ALL TRADES GO HERE
Taj Gibson is going to be a sensational beast. I am so sure of it that I'd mortgage next years first on him, along with Brandon Rush.
All that silly Anthony Randolph talk could make you overlook a true blossoming PF. The problem is they just signed Boozer and Noah longterm, and when Boozer returns Taj will sit the bench. Chicago's sg spot is junk, so they might be a little intrigued with Rush.
The trick is to offer the pick to them now, unprotected, that way the Bulls have an incentive to do it. In reality, if we added a player of Taj's caliber, we'd easily win 45 games. At best surrendering the 17th pick. Gibson is definitely worth it.

Wasn't Gibson awful during the preseason? I know he was against us last season.

He shot 66% from the field scoring 16 while grabbing eleven rebounds in 34 minutes tonight. Also 2 asst, 2 stls, 2 to's

Re: 2010-11 Trade Thread: ALL TRADES GO HERE
Thompson, to me, is pretty underrated. I think he averages 12+ and about 8.5. He's not very beefy so might get pushed around a little bit. But considering the Kings now have a frontcourt also consisting of Landry, Cousins, Whiteside, Greene, and Dalembert, all acquired since Thompson was drafted, maybe Thompson isn't really in their long-term plans?
Granted, I'd like to see the Pacers nab one of the potential/likely free agents next summer such as Horford or Jeff Green, but the PF position is pretty stacked around the league, so I think the Pacers will have some opportunities to strengthen that front line to support Big Roy.

Re: 2010-11 Trade Thread: ALL TRADES GO HERE
Both Horford and Jeff Green are RFA next summer, and I don't think Hawks and Thunders would let him leave.
On the other hand, look at some unrestricted FA big man.
Zach Randolph is good at offense but not a good passer. His defense is likely to help the Pacers.
Tyson Chandler is a good paint defender, but is injury prone, and I don't think he would leave the Mavs.
Both Tim Duncan and David West could opt out thier contract, but I think neither one of them will like to be a Pacer.
Carl Landry is an energy guy, but he can only play at PF, which is same as Hansbrough.
I'd love it if the Pacers can get Jason Thompson. However, the only asset we can appeal the Kings may be our 1st round pick. So, would you like this trade?
Solomon Jones and 2011 1st round pick(top 10 protected) for Jason Thompson and a future 2nd round pick
I know I would.

Top 10 protected I could get behind. There's really no need for Sacramento to include a 2nd though.

What? You mean his legal defense or something? Because he's a bad defender. He is literally the last player that would ever have a chance of playing in Indiana given his history, both locally and criminally.

Obv Duncan won't, but I think West would have a chance. He might be sick of playing for a management in NOH that doesn't seem to really be improving the team. The key thing is if Paul leaves - then West will almost certainly want to bail.

Yeah, Duncan is staying put in the Alamo. He's already left a lot of money on the table to stay put and will retire a Spur (which I greatly respect him for.)
David West I hadn't even thought about. I think if Chris Paul bails, West isn't far behind. Depending on where Paul were to hypothetically go, the Pacers might have a shot at acquiring him. (Like if Paul were to bolt to NY, no-go since Amare is already there.) Let's not forget that West has played some significant time with Darren Collison, so that rapport is already there.
As for maybe trying to trade for Thompson, would Sacramento maybe be interested in one of our wings? Right now, they have Tyreke Evans and Beno Udrih starting with Francisco Garcia coming off the bench as a wing, but he could easily play SF pretty much full-time and Luther Head but I think he's just a one-year deal. So maybe either Rush or Dahntay might be included in a deal? Likely Dahntay?
